  • Steam Pressure too Fast in Rancilio, Why?

    Hi All

Question: What would cause the steam pressure in a Commercial 2 Group Rancilio machine to heat the milk super quick thus not allowing any time to texture the milk? Is there a way to decrease the pressure or would this be a sign that somethink is faulty!

    Thanks in Advance,

    Thanks in Advance,
    Define super quick ?  3 /  5 / 10 / 15 sec for what a 600ml Jug of COLD milk ?

How many steam holes... 1,2,3,4, or 6

What temp are you stooping the process at ?

Pressure / Temp and Group temp are all inter linked; unless a dual boiler.

Surely only partially opening the steam valve will reduce the pressure resulting in slower heating, or am I missing something?

The pressure a boiler can take in a coffee machine is finite
Lets face it they dont use 10mm thick metal

However the boiler size does have a bearing on steam availability as theres plenty of steam to go around

You can decrease the pressure by not turning the steam knob to much It works like a tap

In reality steaming milk is not that hard with a commercial machine
I think you just need practice to get used to it
