I buy Cooloola Jersey milk from the corner shop. I get the pasturised only and just give the bottle a good shake to mix the cream through. Its beautiful, yellow and creamy. They also do a low fat version which is also lovely. Maleny Dairys have a similar milk. I find it steams easily, Im not all that good at the art but it tastes great.

Full cream is easier to work with, but provided your machine has adequate steaming you shouldnt have any dramas using low fat or no fat milk.

Every time I buy Dairy Farmers or Pauls I get this weird old tea taint in the milk (it also doesnt steam as well). Most cafes I have worked in use Pura in one form or the other but I havent had a problem with just the no name Coles or Woolies milk at home.

    Milk in Brisbane

Hi - after a while of drinking coffee with microwaved milk I am finally turning to using the steam wand - without too much success for now Im afraid - is there any preference to the type of milk available in Brisbane which is better suited to steaming?

And should the milk be a creamy milk or more a skim milk??

    Thanks,
Working...
