Re: Trouble building/stretching microfoam...
Probably did actually, considering I bought it second hand and never descaled it myself..

Maybe a Sunbeam that needed a descale.Originally posted by 6D746A647660736C363030010 link=1282357136/3#3 date=128247450730 seconds on the Lelit and about 3 minutes on the Sunbeam.
I know they seem slow if you have a faster machine (I do) but really, 1 minute would be more like max.

Re: Trouble building/stretching microfoam...
About 100X faster..Originally posted by 49535E5F4D5B4349493A0 link=1282357136/2#2 date=1282469700Question, does the Lelit steam faster or slower than the Sunbeam?
Steaming takes about... 30 seconds on the Lelit and about 3 minutes on the Sunbeam.

Re: Trouble building/stretching microfoam...
Right. Don,t worry too much if some big bubbles appear if you inadvertently put the tip above the surface, you just keep going on stretching the milk til you feel it getting warm , then move the tip to the side of the jug, put it in the milk slightly deeper, and try to achieve a swirling pool so the bigger bubbles get broken down into finer ones.Originally posted by 716876786A7C6F702A2C2C1D0 link=1282357136/1#1 date=1282455881Get that "tearing" sound going asap. Not a gurgling bubbling sound which indicates real soapy bubbles. You might notice you can make out individual bubbles clumping as the milk swirls underneath it. What you need to do is adjust the angle and positioning of the steam wand to try and suck those bad boys up and incorporate them back into the milk..

Trouble building/stretching microfoam...
Just getting up to speed with my Lelit Combi...
Im purging so I get a dry steam, placing the tip just below the surface of the milk, tilting the jug away slightly, running steam at full power/open, but I just cant get the microfoam to build... Im gradually lowering the jug but rather than the microfoam building, the tip pops out and large bubbles get pulled in. I get microfoam but just a thin layer then the milk quickly gets too hot so I have to stop texturing.
I never used to have trouble with my old cheapy Sunbeam - I could stretch the microfoam from 1/2 full to the top of the jug...
