  • Those overly-large bubbles

    Im getting overly large bubbles when I froth (using a La Pavoni Professional).
    Is there a solution? Maybe a preferred technique?

    Hi Anthony,

    Is it a 3-hole steam tip on the La Pavoni? If so, my experience is that they need a very different action than the steam arm on an Atomic or even a Silvia. Principles are the same, but you need to try different angles and play with where you position the tip in relation to the centre/sides of the jug (the Pavoni I use requires very little air sucked into the milk and it does better if the jug is not angled and the steamer tip in the centre; my Silvia needs a bit longer in the air-sucking dept and its single-hole tip needs a good angled entry near the side of the jug; the Atomic is the most forgiving steamer, I think). I dont use the pavoni often enough to have mastered microfoam with it, but theres nothing stopping you from doing so.

      With large bubbles youre either injecting too much air or youre over heating the milk.

        Thanks Rob and Java ... Ill try for closer to the centre and less expressive vehemence on the part of the steam! That should fix it.....
