  • Gaggia wand conversion

Im looking for advice re converting my classic wand to a standard, all metal unit. Trouble is, if I take the 8cm long plastic frother off, the steam pipe is way too short, and just has a bare end with a single hole..no threads or anything. Is it possible to replace the whole unit? I am tired of getting too much froth from the milk frother, even if I leave the tip at the bottom of the jug all the time This is a new model, which draws air through slots at the top of the frother.

    Re: Gaggia wand conversion

    Gday Gaz,
you can substitute your standard steam wand for a Silvia one quite easily (standard warnings re machinery, electricity, steam, hot things, yadda yadda  ). Andy CJ did this mod to his Gaggia, check this link out.

    Good luck with it.
