Hi Guys, Any Jura Experts out there. We recently upgraded our Saeco Magic Deluxe (Burnt out pump & ECU) to a Jura Impressa E85. After struggling for months trying to get it to produce froth instead of burnt milk or airy bubbles with the regular steam wand, we decided to purchase a Profi Auto attachment after advice suggesting that Jura machines probably need the auto attachment to acually work properly. The profi got off to an O.K. start by getting a lot closer to frothy milk, but the milk is tepid and barely warm. As its a drag drinking tepid cappuccino in Winter does anyone know how to adjust the machine or profi to get hotter milk and froth. The only thing I could think of was placing it through the profi twice, but this seems wrong. Any ideas???

Hey aroev, what can I say, the words ideal froth and super auto machine just dont go together.
Lesson to all - dont waste thousands on these types of machines until you do some research.
Try checking the forum on what types of machines everyone uses and its no coincidence that over 50% mention Rancilio Miss Silvia.
Ciao

Re: The seach for the Ideal Froth from a Jura E85
Yeh, great advice Carlo, for when I choose to downgrade from my $1,950.00 machine to a $720.00 machine.
Anyway the profi auto attachment seems like a waste of time unless you want to put a cappuccino in the microwave for twenty seconds before drinking. Sacrilege!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, we are back persevering with the couple of steam wands that we have and enjoying a warm coffee/milky beveridge with bubbles on top that in some distant way may be related to a Cappuccino.

Re: The seach for the Ideal Froth from a Jura E85
aroev, Im no expert.
My machine only arrived yesterday and boy am I on a learning curve.
But I am a process auditor.
Reading what you wrote, you said you are after froth NOT burnt milk.
If the regular steam wand was able to burn the milk then it looks like you need to ditch the profi.
Your solution must lie with the regular steam wand.
If the regular wand gives airy bubbles and/or burnt milk does that mean the holes are too big or there are too many holes?
Maybe my 2 cents worth will give you something to consider until someone with more experience happens upon this thread.

To put my two cents worth in...
While using the "profi" use the various positions available on the dial?
Thinking of the dial as a clock the "midday" position will give warm frothing milk, moving the dial through 1 oclock then 2 oclock positions will increase the temperature until nearling the 3 oclock position at which you will only get steam.
6 oclock position will provide "flat" heated milk and once again moving the dial towards the horizonal through 5 oclock position will increase the temperature.
Hope that helps you get value form the profi.
Now if that was my two cents worth, wonder how that compares to a penny for my thoughts.
