We have been drinking Soy milk for around 30 years or so. In the States:
Silk - I use to like it, but it does not stretch well.
Kirkland (Costco brand)- I believe that it is made by Silk, but it stretches quite well, and woks for latte art.
Kikoman Pearl - I tasted this for the first time at the SCAA Atlanta show and it is so remarkably like cow juice that it is amazing. The sweetness level, texture, taste, and even mouthfeel is excellent. No chalkiness or beany flavor at all.
Many adults (most, really) have some level of lactose intolerance. A lot of folks find they feel better when they stop consuming milk for a while. After all, if we needed milk as adults we would still be nursing.
if you dont believe that, try not drinking milk for a month, then drinking a glass. The mucous production will begin before you get half way through.

I should add a warning!
If you really like something, dont stop unless for a really good health reason.
After I stopped consuming dairy I now get the mucous production that Randy G is talking about.
Not too bad with cheese. The worst is yoghurt. One teaspoon and I am coughing up phlegm for half an hour. Sorry to those who are eating!
I like yoghurt. Love cheese. Not fair!
Dont really care about milk. It now has an off baby spew smell to me. The texture in the mouth is just WRONG!
Dont mind cream or ice cream but quite happy to give them up.
Butter and other animal fats now feel wrong in my mouth. The fat coats the tongue and it feels like I never can scrap it off.
Margarine just doesnt cut it as an alternative. So I just dont eat it.
Most meat is easy to pass by. It tastes boring to me. Although the aged T bone that my local butcher has ......Mmmmmmmm. Happy to live with crappy feeling after for that!
So dont stop. If you like your meat/diary dont give up like I did, it may ruin it.

That is the most dramatic story in this regard I think I have heard. I have heard situations caused by antibiotics in regards to taste and smell, but those were always temporary.
I had a friend who loved the apple malted served up at a great vegetarian restaurant in California (they were freakin delicious!). For those reading in the San Fernando Valley- it was Follow Your Heart; quite famous for their soups. About one or two hours after consuming his malted he always ended up depositing it in the loo when his digestive tract was through sending it on its way. He later found out that he was allergic to a number of things including dairy and gluten.
Sometimes when your body tells you something it is best to pay attention.
Re: Sungold. I always found it WAY too sweet. I never add sugar to my coffee and if it was made with Sungold I could swear there were two sugars in it...terrible to someone who really doesnt like cane sugar. Malt on the other hand is a must in a soymilk for me.
I use dairy in my coffee again now and am thankful for that, but have remained on soy for my cereal and cold drinks - I really like it. I have settled on Natures Soy - nice and creamy, doesnt curdle coffee, and cheaper than Bonsoy (which I also love but cant afford regularly).
I dont drink soy, but I have tried soy coffees. I used to use Vitasoy and personally found it has quite a thick, oily texture and quite a powerful flavour of its own, mainly nuttiness. Where I work now we use Bonsoy. The texture is much smoother and the flavour less over-powering. It is also much easier to steam and pour and it has excellent feedback from customers.
Hmm I think you cant go past Bonsoy. Its the most organic out of all the brands on the shelves (most expensive too), its made 100% in Australia and it has the cleanest taste, it really isnt sweet compared to most of the other brands. And if you go to any good cafe you will notice they use Bonsoy.
Try not to drink too much soy milk too people. A lot of studies showing that its a carcinogenic. Test show that two cups of soy a day can alter a womans menstrual cycle as well. Do a little google and you will see quite a bit of research. In saying that what are the effects of two cups of coffee a day... or more!

You can Google and find any research you want to support any hypothesis you care to support. Remember Aluminum and Alzheimers? False. Remember soy and reduction in sperm count? Soy is why there are so few Chinese people living today. I have advertisements that quote MDs who state that smoking tobacco is good for you. "A lot of studies.." is misleading. Please feel free to post the source of your information and who funded it. Additionally, do a search for "Dangers of Dihydrous oxide" and how the government allows it to be pumped into our homes even though it causes so many deaths each year.
Kikoman has an excellent soymilk that is excellent, not only in taste and texture when compared to "real" milk, but also it stretches very well.
i use vitasoy (purple, and green for lite soy) and im quite fond of them. i never used to like soy milk but with a growing intolerance to milk, ive had little choice.
i find with soy as far as pouring goes, letting the milk sit for a few moments after steaming yields a much shinnier, and easier base to pour designs.
