Re: Soy Milk?!?!
Do try it out. It doesnt work well with all beans though. I use it out of necessity (lactose intolerent) but I find that there is greater balance with soy rather than the distinct taste of normal milk which takes away from the flavour of the espresso.

Re: Soy Milk?!?!
Haha I think its because the authorities are sometimes one step behind. If the authorities knew it all it wouldnt have needed to be pulled off the shelf before.
Either way I still use it everyday (just for one in the morning!) as I cant find anything that tastes as good. Who me? is right though. Espressos are the way to go!

If some "baristas" distrust the Health Authority, on what basis would that be? Some expertise perhaps?
Methinks not.

Not sure exactly how safe it is, but probably safer than drinking breast milk made by another species...Originally posted by 62696E6A6E636E010 link=1209862998/94#94 date=1299555944Is it safe to drink? Cows milk does have some documented health risks and, so far as I can tell, no proven health benefits. Coffee tastes better without it anyway (good coffee that is).

What is the consensus on Bonsoy at the moment? I still havent found a good alternative. For those interested, you can get a 6-pack carton of Bonsoy at Vitamin Me for $20.

Re: Soy Milk?!?!
I have been drinking soy milk for just under six months now.
I usually use alpro soy and as someone who drinks a lot of coffee i think its great. I didnt realize just how much milk clogged me up.

Re: Soy Milk?!?!
My partner drinks soy milk. After getting our machine, we tried a few different ones. We settled on Vitasoy Soy Milky. It froths up very well and is low fat, but has a very creamy taste apparently.

Re: Soy Milk?!?!
"Everyone needs iodine in their diet for healthy thyroid function and a healthy metabolism."
Is iodine deficiency common?
"New research shows that thyroid disease affects one in seven Australians.
Fifty per cent of children and pregnant or breastfeeding women living in Australia have been shown to be iodine deficient, or at risk of developing thyroid disease."
http://www.thyroidfoundation.com.au/iodine.html
A recent blood test of mine shows no thyroid problems.
I dont take iodine supplements.
I must be one of the 6 out of 7.
