Some of my pour art comes out like a Christmas tree or a NZ Silver Fern

Christmas tree - nope. But if you squint your eyes my pours can look like a Christmas tree ornament  :P

^^ Hey KK, what sort of jug do you use when just making a cup for yourself?

                    Re: Christmas trees on coffee

Funny this should be bumped - had one smart alec ask me tonight if I could put a christmas tree on top. I didnt think he was serious but then he called my creativity and artistic ability into question so I made an attempt at etching one, with some success (recognisable shape, but no finesse to it).

Spent the rest of the night contemplating the way you might actually pour it. Didnt even manage to come close.  Might try a couple tomorrow morning.

Recognisable... but no room for a star on top :/

                        Re: Christmas trees on coffee

Idea: Same pattern as rosetta with less flow-force for initial submerged leaves so their curvature is less by the time they rise? Half-size rosetta leaving room for etched star on top?

My grinders stuffed tonight (with vietnamese coffee... dont ask) requiring complete dismantling so cant play. Its just not the same playing around with hot chocolate rosettas.

Fotolia pic very digital. That just aint possible - no flow marks in the crema (or is it hot choc?).
