Hi, i just bought a lelit PL41em yesterday, and I would also be really interested in bying an extesion or replacement tip. i can see myself getting a bit annoyed with the short one very quickly!hopefully more people will be interested to make it more worthwhile for you greg!

OK, here is another thought. Ive just pulled the case off my Quaha to see what was inside (I cant help myself). I noticed that the T piece used to take the steam from the boiler seems to use a fairly standard thread. It has a large split nut that the Lelit wand then fits to. What would stop you from putting a short, straight extension from the T piece to the hole that exists from the machine? Then attach a standar ball jointed wand from another machine eg. new Silvia wand? Could someone with more knowledge correct me but this seems like simple plumbing to me? I can post a pic and drawing if you need more info.

I think you should put those pics up anyway so those of us not so technical can visualise what youre explaining.

This is a shot of the T valve and showing the split nut that joins the wand to the valve. Im not sure what the distance is between this nut and the hole in the case.

Does anyone have any thoughts on my steam wand mod idea? Im particularly interested to hear from those with the newer machines to see if theyre similar internally to the older ones like mine.

Re: Quaha/Nemox/Lelit Steam Wand and Tip

As long as the ball in the silvia wand is exactly the same size and uses the same sealing mechanism etc, it should be ok I would have thought.

I did this to my tip:
                      http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1274440245/0#0

Not as elegant as the solution above (and it shortens the wand a little also) but works ok for me.

Would the $60 be for the extension tube including the silvia steam tip?

                      Cheers

I might be interested in this but my tip looks like this one posted earlier.

Does this screw off at the collar on the wand where the plastic steam wand goes up to?

That wand has a tip that can be unscrewed and replaced with an Elektra 3 Hole tip.. or It can be completely removed from up inside the machine.
                          There is no inbetween

Thanks, looks like I am not in then. I tried a spanner on the tip and it is very tight and did not come off so I decided to leave it alone for now. Too new to break yet

Dont worry. Mine doesnt even have that removable tip let a lone removable arm..

I guess thats my point with my idea. If we can work out the right thread for the T valve and the correct one for the Silvia ball joint, then a straight piece of pipe with the correct threads cut at each end SHOULD do the job.

We would then end up with a wand junction identical to the Silvia.

What do people think (preferably ones who know a little bit about plumbing )
