Dont think ill get any where latte art champ - unless there is a section for pours that look like bottoms.

Just had 2 great coffees with microfoam - seem to be making good progress each coffee now.

Wifey just commented id pay for that in a cafe and shes about as snobby as I am

Great microfoam this morning - better than my other machine.

seem to have tamed the 3 hole wand with KKs technique.

            cheers

Good news and good to hear
Once mastered small changes can be made to suit your machine

How did ya get on Kotaro?

Im struggling to stretch milk on my La Pavoni Lever as well - seem to be able to heat the milk up with a layer of bubbles on the top but no microfoam.

Any tips?   just read KKs post and will give that a go.

Re: Texturing milk on a la pavoni leva.

                  for anyone that cares...

Ok, so a few months on and Im steaming like a dream.
did a little tooth pick mod on the steam wand which made a HUGE difference.
The pav has a 3 hole tip, so when the wand is at one side of the jug, one hole points directly at the side of the jug, a pointless waste really.  all it did was heat up the side of the jug and disrupt my nice circular milky whirlpool.  So i plugged it with a toothpick (as in 1st image below).
the 2nd image just shows the old and new steam paths (and consequently milk) within the jug.
as it may or may not be clear from the pic, the mod now means that steam is plunged down into the milk and sends it mixing in a circular motion.
(sorry for my poor artwork)  : ;D

                  Cheers,
                  Matt

Edit: you can see my mod in action here:
