  • Frothing milk with Sunbeam EM3800

    Hi,

I recently bought into the world of making coffee at home with the Sunbeam EM3800. When Im frothing the milk it heats up to the right temp but the machine makes a thump, thump noise while Im doing it. So I exchanged it for another one (same model) and still have the same issue. Is this normal?

Have you used another machine before, or used a similar machine elsewhere?

I dont know how bad the thumping noise is, but the pump usually makes a relatively loud noise while its steaming and brewing.

yeah thats the way those machines work.

I use to have one... many moons ago.

They have a thermoblock not a boiler and thats what they do.
Of course so long as the banging isnt REALLY LOUD, of course.

Do search on youtube for "thermoblock epresso" and there are a few videos that will give you an idea of what noises the thermoblock machines make.

Their not a bad little machine for what they are. With a little practice you can get reasonable coffees out of them

2mcm / talkcoffee can explain how it works better than I can
