  • Pauls Farm House Gold

Ive been using A2 full cream milk for a couple of years, finding it fairly consistent in taste and ability to texture.
The shop had run out yesterday, so my wife brought home the Pauls Farm House Gold to try...got 2L for $4 instead of nearly $5 for the A2.
I really like it...great taste, and I can texture it better than the A2. Its higher in fat but of no great concern to this little fat duck.
    Anyone else tried it??
    Cheers,
    buff

    Re: Pauls Farm House Gold

Quite a few Aussie baristas use it in competition, there is always a few cartons in the competitors fridge at all the comps, sometimes they are covered up as the other milk mob sponsor most of the events but dont make a milk with that high a fat content.

To me it tastes like cream (nearly butter!). I do so little milk in coffee that anything higher than "full cream" can really over power the coffee. I guess if you are using a bold coffee, maybe a tad over dark, and maybe with a fair dose of robusta in it then the extra fat would help tame it.

Still, each to their own and if you like the taste and your arteries can handle it then use it!

farmhouse is good , have you tried the pauls organic homogonised , textures pretty well and mixes really nice with the coffee.

schulz organic and demeter biodynamic are good to work with also, ensure its the homogenised versions though,
as non homogenised doesnt allow the acidity to cut through as good

Weve tried a few now but we like the Pauls Gold as well, it gives me a better froth over the others and a bottle lasts longer with OHs morning coffees. I also find that I can handle the taste better than normal full cream milk, makes a milk coffee more enjoyable for me.

... if you like the taste and your arteries can handle it ...
Contary to the popular press, fat content has very little to do with artery health ... now if you were adding sugar to your coffee :P ... different story!

Sadly Im a tight bastard so the $1 a litre home brand at Coles gets my vote ... and yes I hate to think how hard they are screwing the farmers, and no, its definitely not A2 ... come to think about it, it may not even be out of a cow ... ... but if I find a way to run my car on it ... sweet!! ;D

                +1 from me as well

                Best tasting milk Ive tried.

On a less positive note, something like 4% fat, so if you have it on cereal and in coffee, you should probably expect some weight gain.

+1 for Pauls Farm House Gold too

BUT it is easier for me to get normal pauls homogenized milk for practicing frothing...

                      Looks like from their website...
                      Vic and SA - Cartons
NSW and QLD - Plastic bottles.

                      http://www.pauls.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=84&It emid=84

As to where... Most supermarkets I expect, certainly my local Coles (Vic) had it last time I was in there.

Try Woolworths first in NSW, of all the supermarkets Ive tried up here only Woolworths have it.

                          creamy than A2.
