Impressed with the fresh milk quality, can't say the same when steamed. It appears to me that I need to steam this milk to a lot lower temperature to avoid slightly off aftertaste. With A2 milk, I steamed to 50-52 degrees, and it still heats to up to about 60 when I stop. Tastes perfectly... With Maleny, I need to drop it to 40-45 to get the same lovely taste but by the time it ends up in the cup it is kinda cold.
How do you guys steam it?

Maleny Dairies milk is also availbale at few Coles Supermarkets here in Brisbane. I just pick it up down the road at the IGA, but I guess at least most people who frequent the big supermarket can get their hands on real milk that is of exceptional quality.Originally posted by Stoffy View PostMaleny dairies is great! Yes I agree Barambah is actually my top choice for milk I am not going to use in latte's. I go for Maleny for latte for that same reason that it is a bit cheaper too and I go through it fast in our household. Barambah is organic though so I have no problem with the price.Originally posted by beandancing View PostMaleny or Barambah organics in my opinion, both are exceptional milks but have always steered towards Maleny as its a little cheaper! Summer months cows tend to go though a stage when they don't get enough protein which makes things difficult to steam but they have (Maleny) always been great to deal with when this occurs.

Both are excellent milksOriginally posted by mwcalder05 View PostWe switched from Maleny to Cooloola milk not too shortly after I posted that last year! But like you said Yelta, it is a seasonal thing. At least it's changing so we know they aren't pumping it full of chemicals!
. I still use Maleny because I can get it across the road at the convenience store.
Me and my partner both drink unhomogenised milk for various reasons. Maleny's unhomogenised milk is certainly inconsistent, but I have found that is the case with all unhomogenised milks I've tried so far (Barambah, cooloola, Mungali, Scenic Rim etc)..
The homogenised Maleny milk on the other hand (blue top) hits the nail on the head every time for me when preparing a latte...But the flavour of unhomogenised milk from Jersey cows is very comforting.

I wouldn't worry to much about it.
Apart from coffee aficionados, the majority of the population won't care what you're putting in, as log as you can cater to the 2%, skimmed, lactose intolerant brigade and whatever other white stuff goes into coffee.

Its a seasonal thing Michael, from my experience most milk in Aust is affected during the summer months.Originally posted by mwcalder05 View PostHey mate,
I worked with Maleny Dairies non homogenised milk and skim. Unfortunately, it can get quite inconsistent. When it's good, it's fantastic, however, when there is no rain and the cows only get fed hay and not grass, the milk looses it's protein and is a pain in the butt to get the texture. So your call.

I love using their gold top, beautifully rich and thick. Looking at retrofitting another steam wand onto my vv so am interested in seeing how it goes with the microfoam.

Hi there,
I live in Melbourne now but I grew up on the Sunshine Coast in QLD, Palmwoods to be exact, not far away from the dairy. I head back there about 3 times a year to visit family, and the dairy is always a place I visit to say hello. Maleny dairy has been around for quite some time now and have been producing very high standard products including creamy full flavoured milk, cheese, yogurt, ect. We used to produce milk growing up, so I know a thing or two about good milk. There is a real movement here in Melbourne using good quality organic, free range and local milk products. In my opinion, Set your milk based coffees apart and use a good quality creamy local milk. You will quite literally taste the difference. Which coffee do you plan on using?

Hello,
Where are you opening, so that we know where to visit?
Maleny Dairies produce a very good product, and is used by some top cafes in Brisbane. I am sure you will not have any issues with their quality. I buy it for home use whenever it is available.

Maleny Dairies.
Hi guys,
I am opening a new cafe on the Gold Coast in the new year and trying to make a decision on which milk will be best to use.
I have recently been in touch with a guy from Maleny Dairies who told me they are now distributing down to the Gold Coast.
He brought me some samples and to try and I love it! I think its the best milk I have ever used....
But!... Because its new im nervous about using it.. Does anyone have any more information about the products or company that I should know?
Thank you
