    Hi All,

    I'm hoping someone can help me. Can someone suggest the perfect custom setting for the above machine to produce the best micofoam?

    Each machine will vary, but mine worked a treat on the factory settings (never bothered to change it). Some prefer to set it to the dryest and highest pump rate.

    I think it has to do more with technique. There will be several threads here on it, it takes some practice but try to find the sweet spots for good whirlpool action. I generally aim it angled halfway between the middle and edge at the surface/just under until you get enough air in it, then stick it a little deeper at the edge of the jug to get to temperature. It helps to start with super cold milk (empty jug in the freezer).

    Some might criticise the em6910 for poor steam performance, but you can get GREAT microfoam... it just takes longer. To be honest it is easier to learn this way, as during a 45 sec. steam you can react faster to whats happening than during a 10 second operation.

      I agree. Chances are its about technique rather than settings. If you know what you're doing then factory settings will give you a good result. I messed around with the settings but didn't see any noticeable difference

        Hi Nick

        Factory settings and a decent (i.e. consistent) milk thermometer. Sweet spot: I just posted it on http://coffeesnobs.com.au/brewing-eq...tml#post533082 a few minutes ago. That thread has all the 6910 info you would ever need (pity he did not put 6910 in the title...).

        Your technique is way more important than the settings.

          A quick basic tip, I've foud with mine its much easier to texture the milk well with a smaller jug (given that its not too powerful a froffer). I think when I first got the machine I set it a little drier and upped the pump rate, though not all the way, but I agree its much more down to technique.
