  • Half strength, can I use the other half later?

If kept in fridge can I make my morning half strength then use the other half later that day? We grind the beans each morning. Thanks to anyone who answers as I know it may seem silly.

Half of what? The milk? The shot of coffee? The ground coffee beans?

If your meaning can you make a double shot, split the shot using a double spout portafilter and use one shot now and store the other shot in the fridge for later I’d say no it will taste crap but nothing like giving it a try to find out

Yep definitely. You can also fry a second egg and pop that in the fridge for eating later too. Yum...

Im new to this sorry. I am talking about coffee. I use two cups next to each other to catch the coffee and just use the coffee from one cup and throw out the other. It just seemed like a waste so thought I would ask if I could use it later as I have two coffees each day. Looks like the answer is no.

Do you like iced coffee at all? You could store the extra shot(s) in a squeeze bottle for a few days and use it to make iced coffee on the weekends perhaps.
As for making tomorrows hot coffee, I doubt it would be as good as the just made one though.

If Iced Coffee is an option, far better to make it immediately and then refrigerate that preparation.
If you just refrigerate the espresso by itself for several hours, it will taste absolutely lousy by the time you get home from work.

                Mal.

Iced coffee is a good recommendation. Bit of milk and maple syrup for a super tasty recipe.

Get a 7g vst basket, and make a single shot

I would suggest catching it into a single cup, but stopping the shot half way(ish). So similar to a ristretto, where you should be getting the sweet-spot of the extraction only. Then make another one for your 2nd cup later.
