Howdy! I just bought this machine and noticed the exact same thing. Swirling is impossible for all but the masterful. Im going to try the toothpick mod tomorrow, as soon as I can actually get some toothpicks! Ah! I was just wondering how I was going to get the toothpicks out afterwards, didnt even realize that the tip bit could be removed... you learn something new every day :P

After trying for several months now I can get great foam with one of the holes blocked with a toothpick.
When using 4 holes I get hot mik with very little stretch. I must be doing something wrong. Why would they make a machine with a 4 hole steamer that didnt work. I have tried different angles, different placement of the wand in the milk... All I get is poor stretch, hot milk and often bigger bubbles as a result of lifting the wand too high trying to get the swirl going.
I bought the machine 2nd hand an was wondering if there may be a fault? There is no pressure gauge, so I do not know what the boiler/HE is doing.
I feel as though that there is not enough pressure. Is there a way of checking this?
    Thanks for the feedback.
    Regards
    Andrew

I did exactly that... blocked two holes with tooth-picks. Worked a treat. Just stick them in the hole and break them off. If you ever change your mind, you can remove the tip and take them out.

    Or.....

Maybe try blocking two of the holes with a couple of toothpicks as an interim measure. If this works better for you then you can either have the holes silver soldered permanently or buy a 2-Hole Tip from CoffeeParts or one of our other sponsors. Many ways to skin a cat, as they say.... ;D

Gday vast ... have you tried tilting the jug at different angles (yet maintaining stillness when steaming) to try and get the whirlpool happening?

    Frothing with a Bezzera BZ99S

Have just purchased a Bezzera BZ99S.
All is going well except for the stretching
Have a Rancilio 4 hole wand and I can handle it. This Bezzera 4 hole is a bit different. The angle of the wand is different and I struggle to get the milk swirling. So I am getting the milk to hot and not enough stretch. Any ideas?
