Flatwhite / Lozzo - I have to agree.
I am amazed at the number of people that run to the kitchen at work to say i need a decent coffee and go to the nescafe which we purchase in the 1KG tin and decant into a container.

I just nod and keep walking, there is no point in trying to push my view but a few of them have heard that i roast coffee and that peaks their interest about coffee in general and mind you it wasnt that long ago that i was drinking supermarket coffee

    (up-market) instant
Expensive, well marketed, freeze dried (my former drink of choice).

    <cringes, waits to be hit>
I didnt actually find it too bad at all, considering the source.
Most of my co-workers still drink either (up-market) instant or stale super-machine coffee and think its fine.

At least there is a chance that some will realise that real coffee actually exists, and can be made at home. Good sales of these machines might also cause many cafés to lift their game.

We can always hope that the rest of the world comes to agree with us oops--their senses.

    Greg

Absolutely agree with you there hence the comments. We know what we are talking about (at least we think we do) and the comments are about on par with what you would expect. 8-)

ACA has only been an infomercial for years now. As you watch each segment, ask yourself does this topic logically fit under current affairs?...rarely will the answer be yes.

highlight for me was the Choice expert commenting on the quality of the "eXpresso"  ;D
Yes, I drive past Hungry Jacks every day where there is about a 10m high massive sign shouting to the world that they sell fresh eXpresso. Have been contemplating approaching them for a job proof reading their ads...that sign must have cost a fortune! Adding a dictionary to the cost could have been fitted into the budget surely!

I dont want to defend Choice/ACA, but I think this forum is wayyyy above average in expectations and experience. For the average punter who has one or two eXpressos a day, maybe the superautos or entry-level manuals are fine. Theyre easy to use and perhaps are well matched to the pre-staled beans/ground coffee the punter is likey to pick up at Coles (or Gloria Jeans, when theyre really feeling adventurous.
And after a couple of years, theyll either be perfectly happy with their home efforts, tire of the "hard work involved in making proper coffee" - or stumble across us!
    Lets not be too harsh.
Lets put it all into perspective!

I think it was actually myer who got done, HN was heaps cheaper for coffee machines was what that was all about. Wonder what HN paid for that?

I noticed the Choice spokesperson, Elise, saying eXpresso as well.
All credibility then went out the door.

Daniel Levitas, the barista - googling brings up no hits.
    Need I say more?

The last pic in the article was not of an appliance but a real machine.

ACA used to do hard hitting stories.
In the days of Mike Willisee or even Mike Munro in the street, it would have been:

"Public Scammed by Harvey Norman and Myer!!! Passing off appliances as coffee machines!!! Choice implicated as accomplice."
