  • Garmin Forerunner 50

Youll recall my thread on GPS units some month or so back.  Well, I finally decided on the Garmin nuvii 1390T which I am very pleased with.

This morning Garmin delivered my free Forerunner 50 Sports Watch with wireless sync and heart rate monitor.  This $149 give-away was their bait to get to me to buy a Garmin GPS

Now I ask, what does a 76 year old coffee snob need with a sports watch  :

Maybe I could see what effect coffee has on my heart rate

So... the forerunner is looking for a new home and is prepared to change residence for a very reasonable price.

PM me if you are interested.

Just to fill in some details about the watch which as well as telling the time and providing two timers also tells you everything you need to know about a run or ride - pace, distance, time, calories burned and maximum and average heart rate. Its a bargain for runners and cycilists interested in tracking both their optimal aerobic zone and how fast they ran or rode.

You can also use to monitor the effect of coffee on your heart rate

Is that the one that comes with the Heart rate strap or foot pod?

The strap is included, the foot pod can be purchased as an optional extra.

Please note that the Forerunner 50 is NOT a GPS watch.

It is a regular sports watch with HRM, but can work with the optional Garmin footpod to provide speed/distance.

Yes but earlier you said it will tell you pace and distance which it actually will not so just wanted to clarify.

                Hi Moby,

Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

I should have read the manual before I posted

                Cheers,
