I see bigger things on your bench in the not to distant future
While not trying to rack up too many clicks on the OT meter, dont tell me cksyd is baby sitting the Izzo + Compak while youre on CWealth Game duties.

Unfortunately no, Warren hasnt offered that scenario........

    Cant say I blame him........

But we were chatting the other weekend....... hmmmmmm

What I wonder more is the average age of CSers? I would guess at a middle aged average, please dont be offended anyone.Grin Im in my mid 20s by the way.
    Why not start a poll?
That way no one has to admit to their age in a post.

Well, women may laugh at us but it is the male nature to be competitive. Its in our jeans genes. Egos are part of our makeup. Its just that some have it better under control than others"

I agree that the tendency to sneer at others (lesser) equipment or pass off post-count as coffee knowledge is going too far. Ill put my hand up as being guilty on both accounts in the past but I have repented, so Ill stick to taking the moral high ground : :-[

Perhaps preceding "My conical is bigger than yours!" should be "I have a conical"

No need for the flame suit Scoots, have to agree.

Nothing wrong with "social chatty thing". Coffee is an experience. Why not make it a good one?
Through history this has been one of the things that coffee lends it self to. It changed Europe, took it out a drunken state to an aware one. Some claim that this brought on the French revolution.

My turn to borrow the flame suit:
I think one of the factors is that men (in general) have bigger egos then women.

"I have a big post count, now I can make fun of ignorant statements." :-?
Do I have a large enough post count for the above? ;D

"Look at me! I know stuff! Please look, please acknowledge me."

"My conical is bigger than yours!"

"I have more material stuff then you, its faster then yours and larger too."

"I read ONE report made by some men that correlates to my beliefs so there!" I am guilty as charged on this one.

"My view on this subjective point is right and you are wrong."

    *borrows beanflyings flameproof suit*

Ive always thought it was because the male of the species is just really anal about stuff and making coffee seems to lend itself to that. Oh...ok, I mean that men have brains with boxes in them and they take out the box with coffee written on it and well... ;D

Also seeing as coffee combines the use of machinery and foodstuffs...it had to be dominated by men!  ;D

Truly, what I think its all about is women drink coffee because it gets them together with others and they do the social chatty thing...they dont necessarily want to know how to be technical about making coffee. If you watched me on some days, youd see that I was more about the relationships Im building over my coffee machine, rather than the technical side of making a coffee. (and that is not to say that that side suffers because of it...its just not the priority.)

Like Ellibee said too, with blokes, theres the "Tim the toolman" element of having to mod stuff and grunt about that together... ;D Sorry...couldnt help myself.

Right...dug myself in deep enough yet? Nope...you cant have the suit back just yet, BF... ;D

Also, this site is for practical hobbies.

I mostly got into coffee so that Id have something more in common with my father other than just talking trucks :/

Also men are more likely to mod things and thus have a talking point

I showed mum a picture of a nodded crazy popper and she was terribly concerned about the safety hehe...

Looks like I wont be allowed to do that for a while ;D
