Last Friday at the Royal Easter Show, I tried 2 macchiatos. The first at Cafe Alfresco. I told the ‘coffee machine operator’ that she had put too much water through the machine. I wouldn’t call her a barista. She made another with a little less water. It was undrinkable. I gave up and tipped it out.
Later I bought one from another stand which I was able to drink but decided to have my next coffee back at home.
I find that at a place like the show, with an endless passing trade and not relying on repeat trade, quality control and staff training is not always what it should be.
I have had good coffee other times at the Show but I was not prepared to taste any more bilge water in the search.
I did enjoy the tea and scones at the CWA Cafe. Not the Chin Waggers Association but the Country Women’s Association. They are good cooks and always do a good job.
