I have problems with "Google" searches, when I use (Linux) Firefox - due to an (unrequested) Firefox add-on  called "superfish" which hides the result of the searches under a blank top-screen.
Just in case any reader of the above post has a similar problem, I have now tracked it down.

"superfish" is an added bonus of the "FasterFox" addon.  Disabling the bonus solves the problem.

    Whenever .

I just go direct to google and add coffeesnobs to the search if appropriate. Ive given up the quick search.

A quick search for felix returns:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=Felix&sitesearch=coffeesnobs.com.au&forms ession=636F66666565736E6F62732E636F6D2E6175656D636 B6973736F636B000

But results come from all over the web.
Firstly, my thanks to all who were good enough to send an answer to my query.

I have problems with "Google" searches, when I use (Linux) Firefox - due to an (unrequested) Firefox add-on  called "superfish" which hides the result of the searches under a blank top-screen.

    Totally *my* problem!

Google searches from a (Linux) Opera browser work just fine.

And, now that I know the score, I can easily find the sought CoffeeSnobs postings by adding a few additional keywords in the "Quick Search" field.

Again, many thanks to Andy and to all who took an interest in my problem.

    Felix

Yep, thatll work. Just wanted to put the info out there on what the quick search comes out with in case Andy wants to.look into it. Personally I dont really need the quick search box.
I really only limit my search to coffeesnobs when I am looking for a specific thread.
Although it may be sacrilege, I find there is useful coffee related info outside snobs.

Whenever I do a quick search on my android phone, it searches the whole internet, not just coffeesnobs. This changed when the site was upgraded. PC searches are fine.

I just go direct to google and add coffeesnobs to the search if appropriate. Ive given up the quick search.

    Edit:
Just thought I should verify it still does this as I hadnt used quick search in ages.

A quick search for felix returns:

Does such a option still exist?
Not at the moment. There is a server load issue with the old search option.

Google site search is what you should be getting so I doubt your *nix is doing anything wrong.

A quick search for "Felix" will look like:

    http://www.google.com/search?q=Felix&sitesearch=coffeesnobs.com.au

    ...and return hits from CoffeeSnobs.

    Coffeesnob "Quick Search" Option?

Query from an occansional visitor to the CoffeeSnobs web-site:

    The currently-offered "Quick Search" option:

    a) does not appear to work satisfactorily on my (Linux) OS; and

    b) appears to hand over the search-request to Google.

I would prefer that the my (CoffeeSnob) searches were restricted to previous postings to CoffeeSnobs.  Does such a option still exist?
