  • Re: What do Coffee Snobs do for a crust

Late life entry into teaching at a Senior High School, and yes, IT teacher ;D

Was trained at 16 to be a Car and Wagon Builder in the NSW Govt Railways, but as they dont build wooden carriages/wagons anymore, retrenchment and study led me to teaching.

I also run a small business selling and maintaining computers.

Well I have had a change of career. I quit teaching (was a Physical Education and Biology teacher) and became a fireman. Not exactly related fields but theres alot less stress as a fireman.

Im a paramedic and agree whole heartedly with the less stress in the life of a fireman...They eat, sleep and train in the gym most of the time...We wake them up once in a while to help us lift large people.....and cut cars up
It sure beats working for a living :P

hahaha...and charge $2000 a call out per truck. And when our firealarm goes off at work....they send two trucks! $4000 x 2 = $8000 gone....happened 2 times already.

I teach at senior high, this college idea sucks sometimes, but we teach yrs 10 to 12, and yes, once the 10s learn respect its a lot better than when I was at the junior part of the college, 7 to 9.

On fireman not as stressful, hmm, dont know about that, have been in the NSW Rural Fire Service for 37 years, in my 38th yr, and have had some very stressful times in those years, especially as a Captain and Group Captain, now back to a fire fighter, its better, but would say the stress levels are different, as you only have the fire stress for a few hours/days, and those kids for 5 days at a time, 6 hours a day, and yes, it has its moments :

Im an internal auditor for a global IT company, and I try to work from home as much as I can get away with so I can enjoy my own coffee

But...my true passion ? I really just want to be a barista 8-)

Well I used to be an internal auditor for a global IT company, but after a restructure I am now at home enjoying my own coffee.

I did the barista thing for a few days last week.
It wasnt as glamorous as its made out to be.
