Well I used to be an internal auditor for a global IT company, but after a restructure I am now at home enjoying my own coffee.

I did the barista thing for a few days last week.
It wasnt as glamorous as its made out to be.
Very true. Being a barista is hard work especially at high volume coffee bars that Ive worked in...i.e 120kg a week/20kg a day cafes. Drain on the body for sure.

My calling is coffee. Being a barista...Im not sure, but I do love it. Micro-roaster....maybe in the future. Coffeebar owner? Yeah, thatd be nice...but for now Ill continue my double degree studies and work hard as a barista to have a go at next years VBC

        OK Ill come clean -

Im a coffee machine technician - I could be the guy that fixed your machine last time it died .lol.

Used to be an IT manager running 120 Networks Australia wide but GST & Y2K burnt me out , only so many 16 hour days 6 days a week a guy can do.

So now I have the best job ever, get paid to drink coffee all day and they give me a free machine for home.

        Just how sweet is that

I work for a US based Oil Company as a kind of glorified Bean Counter (I have an Accounting background) - - - hence my dependance on Coffee Beans I guess!

I had to LOL at morningshots description of airline Pilot as - high speed aluminium tubing  ;D

From someone that flies quite a bit (as a passenger) that was kinda funny and disturbing at the same time :-/

Ah, if the public had any idea on just what goes into a plane, they probably wouldnt fly much at all!

I took a picture the other day of one of our planes at work which currently has no wings (they are being rebuilt) and I have to say that there is no weirder sight than an aircraft fuselage without wings! Very odd indeed!

CK - you are at an age where you should be giving your teachers a hard time!

I run my own business importing and selling premium car care products, (waxes, polishes etc)

My entire working life has revolved around cars. Either fixing them or buying and selling parts for them.

                        Cheers
                        Dave.

                              Hi Seagrave,

I do drive an R32 Golf but not one of the latest models, mine as Chris says, is number 190 of 200 Mark IV models which were imported to Australia. It has quite a few modifications and sees some action in tarmac rallies and club level track days. I also have a 2000 model Audi A4.

                              Cheers
                              Dave.

Oh I dunno about that Scoots! You should see how they build "real" aeroplanes!  :P ;D Although I do have to say that some of the engineers who design certain components must be living on the edge of insanity, because there really is no way that a sound mind could conceive these pieces of industrial art! Quite amazing...
