This should give someone a laugh......jack of all king of none.

Started with the PMG...yes, Im That old!....became a technician on exchange installation, doing installs of all sorts of new innovations...like computer controlled hardware. If your call dropped out, it was my fault!

Moved into managment as foreman of wiring harness company making truck wiring harnesses....so if you see an old truck burnt out on the side of the road...it was my fault!

Moved into plastic soft drink bottle production as shift supervisor.....and yes, if you got a flat bottle of fizz, it was my fault!
Stepped up the ladder and Managed my own plastics recycling plant.....blowed if I know what you could blame me for there, but Ill take the blame.
Up the ladder once again and managed a plastics custom moulding factory....so if you got any other plastic bottle that failed, yup, me again!

Did four years as Mr Mum......now that was an experience.....anyone that says mothers sit at home and do nothing all day, doesnt know jack.

Time for a change of life. Installed EFTPOS machines. Worked as a storeman in a wool store. Decided to move to Tassie and here I am!

Think youre being a bit harsh on yourself there Mel... Its all about opportunity and having the tools to make the most of what comes along and you sound like the kind of person who is well and truly able to do that.

Have never thought a Mums job was easy, I was no walk in the park for my Mum :-[ and my lovely wife Di has worked very hard over the years too but I think its only later in life that a lot of blokes realise just how much effort and dedication is required. More power to you Mel (and b4b of course )[smiley=thumbsup.gif],

I think youre being a bit harsh on an Arts degree, Mel! I graduated with a BA Honours in Political Science from Uni of Qld (15yrs ago).

I feel denigrating any educational experience is quite unfortunate.

My BA gave me a whole range of analytic & research skills that allowed me to build a career in the Public Service to become a senior policy analyst (up until 5yrs ago).

Although a safe, cosy job, did a bit of soul-searching & it hit home that I wasnt enjoying it anymore, and had had enough of politics compromising any genuine systemic changes :P

So! What does any dreamy, resigned ex public servant do? Open a cafe! And 5yrs later here I still am - owner operator, budding home-roaster, & as my BA also taught me, always probing to learn more about any passion - yeah, coffee

              Cheers,
              Tony

                  Hey there all!

Well, Ive read over some of the job titles people have, and Im impressed!

Err, let me clarify. Im impressed for a few reasons.
1 - Most of you are really experienced.
2 - most of you have job titles that mean something
3 - most of you work in I.T!

Well for me, I have a fluid job title, fluid job role and varied working hours.

In other words, Im the marketing Director for a Registered Training Organisation. Hee hee.

Im currently in training to become an accredited workplace trainer and assessor, so that i can start teaching in my primary industry - hospitality. I have 12 years experience in the hospitality industry, and my passion is teaching people to love the industry as much as i do.

I wont mention the name of my RTO in this post, as we are currently in negotiation to become a CS site sponsor. All going well, we should be offering CS exclusive discounts and specials in a few weeks!

                      GDay all

I manage a fitness centre in Western Sydney by day...& three kids by night!

Both are rewarding & challenging at the best of times.  Trying to get fitness instructors or my kids to stay in one place for any length of time is like...hmm...well...herding cats!  Very difficult, if not impossible!!  ;D

I work part-time as a radiographer (The government pays me to nuke people!).
I have also managed to procure employment with a local coffee roasting company (what, they pay me as well!).
I am an avid road cyclist (find me one who doesnt like coffee); runner; swimmer, etc...
I have productive organic vege garden (coffee grounds=great compost!).
I am an enthusiastic baker of all things yummy that accompany coffee (=carb loading for long rides!).
I am a professional chocolate taster (currently seeking work!).
I am mother to 2 boys (and wife to one!).

I am an electrician by trade (handy when you decide to take the cover off a machine).

Now I work for a lighting company as a Lighting Consultant/Sales/Technician/fixing everyone elses stuff-ups. Were in the process of moving to an office in Crows Nest NSW where we import light fittings from Italy as well as do project work with architects, lighting engineers etc.

At the end of the day I take off the office clothes, put on my skateboard shoes and rip it old skool, dont get paid for that though.
