  • Re: What do Coffee Snobs do for a crust

I am currently working as an instrument technician - service and repairs to surveying instruments.

Lucky enough to have 1 manual and 1 automatic coffee machine at work and 2 roasters within walking distance at lunch time for a quick hit  ( and for a fresh grind when my silvia arrives hopefully tomorrow  )

              Gday,

I own and operate THE greatest Fish and chip Cafe in the free world!

It is called Bell Street Fish and Chip cafe

And is to be found in sunny downtown Torquay on the Surfcoast in Victoria
Most fish is cut fresh here by me and we have great chips and sensational burgers and souvs.

We have always served ok (note ok)! Coffee,

My last business was a cafe in Queenscliff where I served very good(note not great) coffee to the tune of 14 +kg per week(20kg over the summer period)

I love making coffee, and while at home some weeks ago, realized that I did not like the coffee I was serving in my own shop. I criticize coffee every where I go (where does this guy get of huh!)

So firstly I kick my ass and lift my coffee game , then i get on the net looking for the likes of this site, to firstly get info and secondly find a trainer to kick my ass!

And to find fresh coffee not corporate crap. Now the coffee is pretty bloody good, thank you Chris From Talk Coffee , and the beans fresh and well roasted, thank you Andy and Brown Bay.

Coffee Snobs Brown is now served in Torquay and served well, my aim is to be known for the awesome coffee as well as the food!

It will only get better from here.

So if your down this way pop in and i will gladly buy you a Coffee and subsidize your meal.

Have a great day all and thanks for the site.

              Craig.

              GO PIES!

                        Ok, Ill share.

Currently working as a Production Chemist offshore in Malaysia, some 200ks off the coast of Sabah.  I do 28 days on and 28 off on an FPSO (floating production, storage, and Offload vessel), which is basically an oil tanker converted to a production platform.  Cuurently in the 7th month of production and its been a real challenge so far, but easy times are ahead.

Been in the offshore game for almost 6 years, and previously I have been involved in high end environmantal analysis till I got bored of that.

Looking to move into offshore operator position in the future, more money

                              I wish I was a Packer.
Then I wouldnt have to worry about mortgage payments.

Reading all the above humbles me a little... Looks like Im in better company than I should be! Im a forced retiree, broke my spine in 2 places in an industrial accident in 84. Taught myself photography, ended up a medium-format wedding shooter til it got too much. Retrained in computer repair/software mtce... again until it got too much physically. Then tinkered in designing circuits for basic windpower gear. Made up and printed my own circuitboards etc (they actually worked too!) All the above is self-taught, so i havent got an official qualification to my name, which means Im jack of all, but master of none! No wonder I need to find a way to make decent coffee!!! :-)
