Would this have been from a remote mine-site high up in the Star Mountains of PNG?

      Ahh, the wide open spaces...

We used to have Lloyds come in weekly or more often, as required, to ship gold out of Ok Tedi in the early days. That aspect of the operation was starting to wind down by the time my family and I moved up there. Very interesting country to fly into, not literally of course

      Mal.

Im now a freelance graphic designer and photographer, ex industrial arts teachers (a word of advice - dont ever give a teacher a hard time about all your holidays until youve been one - they earn every single second!) and enjoy the morning hit to get the creative juices flowing...

Also enjoy 4wding and camping - just back from Abercrombie River NP after the LW - 8 families (16 adults, 21 kids!) and much fun had in the bush.

                      Have a great week everyone!

Sales Supervisor in retail for A/V gear, kitchen appliances - small & large, video cameras/still cameras, computers etc. if you can plug it in i have sold it. Only back in the work force for a year. Spent 3.5 yrs as a stay at home dad with my daughter running a hobby bsuiness of film transfer/video/slides etc to DVD , DVD authoring ( MAC only stuff).
Have spent over 15 yrs in retail (`93 on)mainly specialising in Home Theatre, HiFi and AV gear - initial background is cooking -started a chefs apprenticeship, never finished it, upside is i still love cooking. Then went to to do Audio Engineering, a little time in Abbey road studios in London and worked Europe, lived with family in Italy and worked in my Uncles Bar in Fagagna Udine. Thats when the real coffee bug stuck.
LHave finally decided it`s time to stopo buyin g domestic machines and move into something more substantial to my wifes chagrin.
Love this site when i found it , and realise i know bugger all about coffe

                          Hey Lozzo,
Great to see you didnt ruin your love of cooking by doing for a living!

Good luck with your impending upgrade

Im a senior supervisor at my local Gloria Jeans *ducks to avoid inevitable rotten fruit* with a bachelor of business & commerce with an Accounting major. Realised far to late that while I enjoy the theory aspect of accounting, doing it as a job is boring. So instead of pursuing a career I stuck with GJs (my entertainment fund while at uni  )

Currently trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and do something accounting related or if I should pursue a welding apprenticeship....or start bugging the CS sponsors around Melbourne if they want another caffeine addict working for them.

Im a theatre grad, did my honours thesis in using computers to make performance art (so-called cyber performance) had a brain explosion and told the guy on the coffee cart there that i just wanted to do like what he does, something with my hands, where my mind is free.

So for a bit I was working in a roastery, learning to blend and roast as well as making coffees, packing beans and taking wholesale orders, then they gave me the shaft and I said screw small business, and got a job in a cafe in a licensed club.

Very secure, better pay than any run of the mill cafe and pretty happy there right now, although I do get frustrated that we wont ditch the contract with piazza and get some decent coffee in and buy our own machine. Were doing a refurb atm tho, so I live in hope.

I was a chef for 21 years but a friend and I got a wild idea that we would like to be in child care so back to study and I am now the co-owner and Authorised Supervisor of a childcare centre. One day (hopefully soon) I will retire from childcare and I am looking to either start/buy a small coffee shop (in a warmer climate, it is snowing here today) that sells the best coffee and baked goods I can make. Last year the local TAFE was looking for an extra person to make up an adult education course. I jumped at the chance as it included coffee making, commercial catering, baking, running a small business, tourisim and bar work, this has really fueled my passion again.
