Dont sell yourself errr, umm... short, short mac.... :

One of the most interesting and intelligent blokes Ive ever had the pleasure of knowing was a Boilermaker and an absolute wizard in that vocation. Sounds like youve had a go at a number of different pursuits in your career up to date though and thats not always easy to do either.... 8-)

              Thanks Mal....

Yep It took guts to throw the towel in with boilermaking at the age of 32 with a mortgage, just married etc. Had to make some changes & sacrifice here and there. Ill be ready to make another change just as soon as those lotto numbers come rollin in
As for the not very bright thing....I take the p*ss out of myself for comic relief sometimes. I love to laugh ;D even at myself ;D

I am a carpenter in the army and I love it. The carpentry that is.

I do weekend work. Decks, pergolas, small jobs.

Looking to get out of the army and move up to Coffs in the new year.

Retired bean counter for the past 10 years.

I guess it was a logical progression from counting to brewing em

                    I know which I prefer

Fire Sprinkler fitter by day - Guitar picker and coffee drinker at night. Something about burnin the midnight oil... Most musicians Ive met like a good cup - some of them are pretty heavy drinkers of alcohol. I cleaned up several years ago - a good briar of tobacco and a cup o joe are where its at for me these days. Oh yeah - and my Telecaster. Regards.

I drink there-for I am. Or is that putting decup before the pot?

FYI Grant it was Dorothy Parker who is the one most credit with coming up with that quote although W.C. Fields and Groucho Marx were the ones who popularized it, *long before Tom Waits put it in a song.

What Socrates actually said was more along the lines of "Damnit waiter! Take this back! I didnt order any hemlock in my cuppa........<thud>". ;D

Quantity surveyors and accountants are similar creatures, they both deal with costs except a QS deals with the qty of items that make up the overall cost of a building or project etc.
When i first started out as one i was called a bean counter as they said al we did was count bricks and the like.

Fortunately i saw the light and got into IT (he says jokingly and not all that convincingly)
