I love coming to Coffee Snobs this site for ideas and inspiration about coffee...which is my other love next to crafts!

Im just starting to learn about blending and its much more exciting that just buying something from a packet from the supermarket. Makes you appreciate your cuppa so much more.

IT Witch Doctor (aka Field Engineer), I make our "product" (which is, in reality, an amalgamation of black magic and voodoo cobbled together from the wastes of various other companies weve acquired) look good by getting the damn thing to work...

                  • G'Day all.
I'm a newbie here - recent lurker but first time poster.
I'm an anaesthetist living in the Blue Mountains of NSW with a fresh interest in this brave new world of coffee. I'd always been a luddite until Christmas 2011 when my lovely partner bought me an Isomac Venus in order to begin this long road of appreciation. I'm an avid learner (bordering on obsessive.....) & quickly bought a Mazzer Mini in order to complete our little start up phase. My partner now leaves all the coffee duties for me because she reckons I'm getting quite good at our daily brews. I'm a big supporter of a local cafe (which also roasts) & have been getting a number of tips and tricks. It's also my regular hangout with a number of friends who are cyclists like me. There's just something about cycling & coffee......
I'm now beginning to suffer extreme upgradeitis as we are currently building our first house (quite well suited to entertaining) and a plumbed-in machine would be perfect for our (my) ongoing coffee needs. I have my eye on a few currently and am shortly going to do some home barista courses in order to learn more.
Best wishes to all & thanks for welcoming me into to the CS community.

                    • Newbie alert!

                      Welcome YouSnooze,

I joined a few days ago after having trouble with my sunbeam grinder and finding the answer on the CS forum.

I'm a barista in a little cafe on my days off trying to teach myself web design!

Just got out of a high paced full time job in a drive through coffee shop, so absolutely reveling in the laid back change!!

I use an Expobar machine at home which I LOVE! Even better now that I've modified the grinder!

                      Dee

Sheesh. Do you have to wear Kevlar under your fox suit?

Lawyer by trade but have taken this year off to study theology at a bible college in Newtown, Sydney. Awesome coffee in Newtown: Tobys Estate and Campos to name a couple.

Bad coffee should be illegal! Especially when it's a nice location, nice cafe, good machine, good beans but......bad barista.
