Im now eying to upgrade one more time to a La Spaziale S1...
Welcome to CS kidsdoctor ... once the upgrade bug bites, there will always be one more time [smiley=evil.gif]

Interesting forum name - are you a paediatrician?
Hopefully the upgrade bug is not going to go too hard on me over the next few years. Just got myself a Compak K8 and took the La Spaziale off Chris (talkcoffee) hands. Any more upgrades and my credit rating will suffer a severe downgrading :-/

Ive used this forum-name forever for my email-addresses in the past. Final years of training for paediatrics, actually...

So waiting for my S1 to arrive from Melbourne and then Ill be playing around with that toy. Ill probably put up my Giotto Classic and ECM Best Grinder for sale up in the forum here soon - I dont really need a dual set-up ;D

    Cheers

        Hey Team

I am looking forward to making a good cup of coffee. The learning curve is steep as I find there is so much interesting stuff to know.

I am liking - "Less is more" a lot.

Thank you for the introduction to coffee snobs Gary...

          Hi,

Joined a while back but been a silent reader/ lurker. Have learned a great deal in that time - thanks all!

Just posted in What equipment do you have section then noticed this thread. Ive gradually progressed from international roast to plunger, stove top, espresso machine and more recently, vac pot. Didnt know vac pot existed before coffeesnobs. . . the rancilio and vac pot are in daily use.

Fortunately my wife tolerates my coffee pre-occupation and I hope for many more years of married life. Shes now more snob than I and wont touch instant coffee - even the freeze dried stuff. Im also looking forward to trying the coretto roasting method - which will mean many more late nights of trawling through posts.

          Regards,

            Hi,
I joined today, but have been reading reviews, comments etc forever.
Well... it feels like forever but has really only about a week or so of fairly solid surfing. Ive been  trying to decide on what type of first machine to buy and now have a Gaggia Classic on its way to the East Kimberley!!

Ive learnt more about coffee in the past week than I even thought existed. Looking forward to being able to learn a lot from people here.
            Cheers

Probably one the most beautifull parts of the country, for me anyway, welcome to the forum and the start of great coffee.

Hi all. :-) Man of few words, but a growing appreciation of what makes life er... drinkable! Bought a Sunbeam em4800c and em0450 grinder two months ago. Now shopping for an em6910. Living in Esk, Queensland gives little opportunity to buy fresh beans, so I content myself with buying GJ beans on a weekly basis. Fresh? Jury is still out on that one! Many thanks to the moderators and other folk who regularly post, you may not realize the real value of what you impart to others! Hope one day to learn enuf to impart something of value myself.

I signed up a while ago when researching my Pavoni, and came back today seeking help in finding a grinder.

I agree completely with what RobT says -- this place is a real source of knowledge. As a (former) lurker Id like to thank you all for this site. It is seriously good not only in terms of content, but the general vibe. Unlike other discussion boards/blogs etc, there is a real sense of support and encouragement and (at least in my limited experience) a lack of nasty putdowns/bickering. Eh. ... maybe thats because I spend too much time on political blogs!

Hi, a bit of a newbie here with a love for coffee. At the moment using a moka pot but will soon progress to a coffee machine when availability of kitchen countertop space permits it.

                        Gday eves,

                        Welcome to CoffeeSnobs too....... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

As you will probably discover as you ply your way through the enormous knowledge repository that CoffeeSnobs has become, we put a lot more emphasis on the acquisition of the best grinder you can afford before any other piece of hardware. Without that, you will never be able to extract the best from the bean no matter what brew method you employ and especially if you aim to own an espresso machine one day.

Anyway, enjoy the journey and all the best...

                        Mal.

Welcome Kimberley Kid, good to see another fellow West Oz member. You will have to get into home roasting next, get some green beans from beanbay and Oz Post will get them to you quickly. We collect our beans from Epic in West Perth each month and a few CSers have a coffee and talk about our brewing and roasting experiences.

Hi everybody, this is my first post on CS, I found the site while researching grinders online. From what Ive read through various sections of this forum, my coffee experience to date seem very limited. The problem with finding a place like this, is that it has the potential to become extremely addictive. I can see this costing me alot of coin.

                              The story so far...

Used to be an instant drinker (its all the wife will still make for me), progressed to simple plungers and about 12mths ago the wife bought me a Sunbeam Cafe Crema (which until reading in here, I loved) and I use a variety of bricks from the supermarket and occasionally some fresh ground from a continental shop.

I was looking at getting a grinder - I love gadgets - and seeing what kind of a difference it makes, and from what Ive read here, its a big difference (and Ill buy a good one to last through any upgrades I get).

Although Im very much a green bean now, and I may get lost in some of the lingo, but I can see myself spending a bit of time in these forums getting up to speed with real coffee drinkers.

Im open to suggestions on equipment, or styles to try or techniques to use to improve my coffee experiences.

                                Gday Sav,
Welcome to CS! Yeah, a piece of lingo that sounds like you might be experiencing pretty soon is one called the "CoffeeSnobs wallet monster" ;D

Just want to say, getting a good grinder is a great place to start in furthering your coffee drinking experience. So youre on the right track!
