Hi everyone,

Id like to say that this is a great site, and a great resource for all coffee related stuff! Thank you to all of you who provide such great info, and i hope to be able to make valuable contributions in the future too.

Signed up quite a while ago when i was in desperation over a few problems i was having with my Sunbeam setup. Now, im back, after an upgrade with Chris of TalkCoffee(site sponsor), who provided great advice and service.

Im no pro, but i do enjoy great coffee...

Hello everyone,

I just stumbled upon this site after finding coffeegeeks last week. Im glad theres a local forum for us.

Ive been using a Breville machine with pressurised filter, but am planning to upgrade really really soon.

Hi All,

Yet another first time poster.

I spent a lot of time here (probably too much) researching what machine/\/grinder to get to replace my old sunbeam machine and based on the reviews here I finally settled on a silvia/\/iberital combo. Only have them a few days so Im still finding my way around, trying to get the right grind setting, etc. Very happy with my choice so far though.

Great to have the smell of freshly ground coffee back in the house again

Im a newbie from Perth who stumbled onto the site looking for recommendations for good (roasted coffee).  I used a fully automated delonghi, but still dont understand why its so evil.

Karen, did you see that we have a Brown Bay where you can buy freshly roasted coffee and it will get to your door within three days!

Automatics are fine but once you learn the art of dosing, tamping and extraction, youll be wanting to give it a go yourself!

Once again. Its not the first post, but I am just going through the old topics... Very nice forum, this one, really feels like a great community. I guess love for coffee makes people nice.

The only problem here is
I have just got my first serous machine (Isomac Zaffiro), decent grinder (Granmacinino) and the rest... but after a few days on the forum I am afraid that it would be easy to come down with upgraditis virus soon ;-) Help!!!

Usually I would say, "Consider how much you have and how much you can afford, why do you need a better machine than you have..." etc,etc,etc, but this isnt www.howtoencourageyoutobetight.org its definitely CoffeeSnobs.com hahaha Im pretty sure youll catch the bug soon enough, enjoy!

I know, its just I spent a couple of hours with Minore 2 and lost my peace of mind ;-)

its just you are not always rational when it comes to things that you like ;-) But thats fine, I will probably upgrade in a couple of years or so. Not sooner.

I guess the next step for me after producing good shots every time you try and making the perfect rosetta will be roasting beans at home. At the moment I dread the idea. but who knows what may happen in few months ;-)
