Well, theres nothing like a lovely Sunday arvo for blat.
So, being as I am home alone on Mothers day, I did the best thing possible and went for a ride.
Took some photos too. Heres my brag book, so to speak!
And just so as the scooter didnt feel left out, I went out for a ride yesterday to take photos of it in front of a crop of cotton. It seemed like a good idea at the time! Actually, I was impressed with how the little scoot took to the deep dirt that was on the road in to where I went to take the pictures. I was expecting to have to push it through!
We should start a bike riding chapter of coffee snobs, there seems to be quite a number of us and by the looks of it would grow as well........
Coffee (food) for thought, we could do a coffee crawl from coffee snobs place to coffee snobs place, via some extreme roads namely brisbane valley, mounts glorious and nebo, kenilworth, montville, melany, with a stop off at sexy coffee on the way down to brisbane..... etc... etc...
Maybe we meet up somewhere common and whoevers stomping ground it is can suggest the route for the ride with recommended coffee stops on the way.
On the way down from here we not only have some awesome roads but we also have sexy coffee and pioneer roastery both well worth stopping at......
Im 47 and I resemble that remark, hoon that is, I just never grew up I guess. mwa ha ha haaaa.
Stan the man, do it mate get yourself a bike youll never look back, there are heaps of bargains around if you take a good look, you can post your prospective choices on here and someone will surely be able to impart some prior knowledge and approximate value to what youre looking at to you, also red book is very useful indeed.
Being an old rider (I owned one of the first Kawasaki 900s in NSW when I was a lot younger) and rode many a mile around the country. I am aware of the costs and will have to wait until after I buy a new coffee machine. I have been looking into the bike idea again as the petrol prices went up. The weather up here is suited to two wheel transport for most of the year.
I also had a number of the old kwaka 9s 76 models and a 77 z thou, widow makers they were called, went like the clappers but didnt handle real well. Mine used to dip and weave in big fast corners, quite unpredictable but exciting though, one of them was an ex SA cop bike with the smiths cronometric speedo on it.
