  • Scoota gal heads south for the winter...

Okay, folks. Were on our way to Sydney on Saturday. Both the bikes are loaded on the pickup and ready to go. I can either be Scootagal or Ducatigal, or even Bowtiegal (as in the Chevy badge!) take your pick!

Im booked in for the Scotty latte art workshop on the 15th of July at Di Bartoli! Cant wait for that one!

So, does anyone in Sydney want to meet up sometime?

As for the Melbournites, Ill just see you at the regular hangouts Im sure. Therell be a trip to Torquay in the offing too I daresay!

Hey Scoota gal- South is SOUTH isnt it.
Do what Bullitt suggested and come for a visit!
Tasmania is beautiful this time of year.
And the coffee is magnificent here in Burnie.. if you know where to go.

Where will you be in Sydney Scoots?
Would it be better to meet up in Bondi Junction a little before you start the course at Di Bartoli?

Ill be in the St George Shire, Oatley to be precise, TG. If Di Bartoli are up for that, then that would be a good idea too.

Hey Scoota, Oatley is just around the corner from Sylvania. If youre about on Sat 14th, you could always call round for the beanbay collection and brunch.

Yep, Tasmania is a beautiful place, but 10 layers of thermal fleecy underwear and several top coats and gloves would make the scenery more "picture-skewer".

(Still thawing out from last year -- mid November -- with 11degree top temperatures capped off by an insane open boat trip to the southern ocean to spot whales. Brrrrr.
                  But Id do it again!!)

My best man was complaining two weeks ago that Darwin was experiencing a cold snap.
It got down to 22C (72F).

At the same time, thats what my thermostat was set at to warm up the house in Sydney.

Heh, if it drops below 20C, you start seeing ski jackets. You dont see any snow however.

Im good to single digits without a jumper. When it gets to zero, I stop wearing shorts.

Arent things in danger of dropping off at those temperatures if you take your shorts off?

I roasted yesterday morning and when I fired up the digital thermometer- it read 3.4 degrees...
No wonder I need 2 heat guns for 800 grams!
                              RH

                              But its warm inside.
AND there is nothing like espresso to warm you up on a cold morning.
