So as not to let the thread pirates take control of this ship, heres a picture of my recent adventure in Sydney. This was our jaunt down to Cronulla. We had an earlier coffee at Grind (note that that is NOT Grinders!) in Cronulla. Worth the trip and the posing to do so. Actually, parking for bikes was far better than parking for cars. That is when the Ambulance Rescue vehicle is not taking up the spots! :

Phew! Good to see you didnt have a run-in with the Bra Boys!

Wouldnt happen to be in the fire brigade would you?

NE14COFFEE, Im still away. Currently still housesitting in Melbourne. Today we went and visited the Yarra Valley, where we had a "snickerdoodle", amongst other yummy things!

Ive done a Latte Art Workshop with Scott Callaghan in Sydney, which was great and I highly recommend anyone to get to one if they can!

Ive visited Veneziano a couple of times, had lunch with the boss (aka Andy) before he headed up to Sydney for Aroma fest and done just a tad of shopping!

So, thats just some of the adventure so far. Ive still got a couple more weeks to go!

Hi Scoota, you sound nice and relaxed - good for you!

When you do come back will you be staying in Sydney again or going straight home?

Hows the bike going and do you have to duck when going through doorways with that supersized conehead helmet of yours? ;D

Geez Scoota, Melbourne already has one Yellow Peril... now looks like we have two.

            LOL! Robusto!

Sadly, I dont have the bike down here with me. It is being bikesat by a very good friend (along with the scoot and the Chev!) in Sydney! And with the way the weather has been down here in Melbourne, Ive not really missed it! As it was cheaper to fly and the logistics involved in parking a rather large pickup in inner city Melbourne was just too mind bogling, I picked the easy option and flew down! (and yeah, my arms were really tired...)

Should be back in Sydney about the 5th of August, where I will have another week there before heading home.

I find that the helmet helps me to wade through the maddening crowds...Want another visit, Dennis??

Maybe well have to set up another Sydney CS gathering before you go.

Something not so far south perhaps?

Re: Scoota gal heads south for the winter...

LOL! Are you guys saying that Melbourne is too far south for you!? ;D

No, seriously, put up your suggestions. (as long as its NOT Bondi Junction! LOL! That place is IMPOSSIBLE to drive a Chevrolet Pickup through!!)

I have been busy! But Ive only been visiting the very best of places whilst in Melbourne. (Read that as Veneziano!) Today I met the famous Luca! Nice to meet you, Luca! And he did make me a nice coffee or two, even invited me to have a go on the Ducati yellow machine but I declined...after all, I AM on holidays! LOL!

Dont have to go too far to get back to my own machine, either. It awaits me back in Sydney!! (yes I brought it that far so I could use it at the Latte Art Workshop - I know, I know, any excuse to pack it up and bring it away on holidays!)

Re: Scoota gal heads south for the winter...

I was just waiting for someone to ask!

I had a great trip home! With the ute fully loaded with bike, scooter, coffee machine and even some ski clothes amongst other things (a whole lot of new cushions too, so if I crashed, Id have a really soft landing!) I had a pretty cruisy trip up over the Blue Mountains. I find it a far better way to go, even if it is a bit longer. You get out of the traffic a lot quicker as by the time you get over the mountains, youre back in the country! The other way via the F3 tends to have a lot more traffic for a whole lot longer!

I had a brief stop in Mudgee and lunched there with my girlfriend (who resides in Mudgee) at the Butcher Shop cafe, however, the female barista that has been there in the past was not working and the bosss coffees were just not as good, sadly! And I even gave him two chances to get it right!

Then did the last four hours home no problems! So, yep, I did the whole trip in one day but driving has always been a enjoyable thing for me and I can happily do it for ages without a break. When I did get home it was great to find everthing still here!

I offloaded the scooter and took the truck and bike down to the local John Deere dealership where they have a big ramp that you can lower and raise to the right height. My friend helped me get the bike off and one of the mechanics who is also a bike fan also gave a hand. Not that I really needed it but if it makes them feel good...well who am I to stop them!? LOL! My friend later told me that all the blokes there thought I must have brought the Duke back for him and so didnt they get a surprise when I got on the bike and rode off on it!

So, the best thing about coming home...

Well apart from finally being back in my own bed, haha!

I got a NEW grinder at work! YAY! A very shiny Mazzer Super Jolly! Picked out by me! (With a little help from Chris of course!)

My boss had rung up whilst I was still in Sydney, giving me the mission of getting a new grinder as the old Boema had kind of fallen apart. So, I just thought, yep, I know who to call! Knew I could save myself a heap of time and hassle and just contact Chris, so a couple of emails and phonecalls later and a new grinder was on its way.

So, all this past week while I was getting the "SO glad youre back" speeches from happy customers, I could show off my "Welcome Home" present! ;D

Well, theres got to be some benefit to coming back to work!

And yeah, Dennis. Im missing ya! :P :-* But not the Sydney traffic, however... :

Good to hear from you Tam - sounds like you had a nice journey. The Mazzer is a cool addition.

Are you charging more for your coffees now that you have improved your artwork??

G;ad you miss me cause I miss you too. Was going to do the :-* smiley in my previous post, but didnt want to embarras you...lol
