Ahh, but whos to say its truly a disease? Perhaps its a psychological condition - ergo, upgradophilia. Or perhaps its not a compulsion to upgrade, but rather a fear of not upgrading - sameoldmachinophobia?

Thinking of a collective noun for such a group I thought either
a culture of coffee snobs or later in the day a quiver of coffee snobs.

                  "Coffee Anonymous" ......

                  or "An upgradopathy therapy session"

                    Re: Upgraditis... techincally wrong...

If Im not wrong, most hospitals have a Friday afternoon all-in training session called "Grand Rounds" (well, they certainly did when I worked at QEII hosptial and PAH in Brisbane...).

Anyway, How does Ground Rounds sound for this coffee meet? So rather than be the patients (Coffee Anonymous) we can be the medical professionals attending our Ground Rounds instead...

Perhaps too obscure to be (mis)understood...

                        Thundergod,

"a collective noun for such a group I thought either

                        Ize likes your thinking,
but since we would all meet and consume too many coffees, how about a "Shudder" of Coffee Snobs

                          Re: Upgraditis... techincally wrong...

There are of course several classes of drugs used to treat Upgradeopathy (Upgraditis):

Upgradisprins - to reduce the pain associated with Upgraditis
Upgradicostins - to suppress the desire to upgrade
Upgradicillins - to eliminate the germ of the disease

Prevention of course is better than cure and fortunately a sure preventative measure is an innoculation every few years of Chromacoateditine. For some people a once-only 2 or 3 group dose will be sufficient for lifetime effect but for many a repeated single group dose every 3-4 years is required for efficacy.

                            Grendel...

                            You forgot

Upgradaplastic - to pay for the treatment and or cure

                            and then there is

Upgradadivorce - the final outcome for those whose situation gets totally out of control

                            ;D ;D ;D

upgradopathy explodes into full blown Upgraditis of which the only treatment is shiny crome

One has to be careful with this treatment as an overdose could lead to one becoming Chromatosed!
