Just be aware that changing your display name doesnt change your underlying username. If you search for the string out for any posts posted in by Brett you wont find any, but do the same search for user coffeechaser and bingo! Mouseover the persons name in their post and check what the actual username is in your status bar - thats what you have to search for. Discovered that when I changed mine!

I hear Coffeechaser is available Dennis.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have decided it is time for me to change my name as well. So out with Coffeechaser and in with Brett to fit with my real name. Sad thing is now my screen name wont go with my member card but such is life.

Your name is on the card as well.

And considering youre not the only Brett on CS, nicking the nick before one of the others takes it is a good move.

Another snobber uses the term espresso nirvana and as you put it "God like" I also have come darn close, its really quite exciting, I like your new name.........     Ray

By the way I too use an isomac, and just love it, it rocks......
"Espresso Nirvana" - now that would make a GREAT name for a cafe! (provided of course, it delivered!)

Yeah, after 6 months of owning it, Im rapt with the Isomac.  My only complaint has been that I havent been able to figure out where to plug in my i-Pod (reference to the "speakers" on the side panels  )

    Cheers,

    -A-

Snap! I spent $1450 on a Saeco only to sell it to a family friend five months later (for $800  :) I take a philosophical approach but, if it hadnt been for that machine, I may not be as addicted (obsessed?) as I am today

Nice name! I just love the internet. Back in 2000 when I first started researching my coffee addiction there wasnt a lot of info. Especially info about the Australia Market. After all my research the best coffee machine for me was a Saeco

After discovering Coffee Snobs and finding out that you crazy people use a simple Crazzy Popper to Roast beans well that just blew my mind. I thought Roasting was just for the big guys.

I like the idea that we are all after the same goal of making darn good coffee and we are all willing to exchange our experiences.

started a topic Why I changed my CS name...

Why I changed my CS name...

Having lurked here for a little over a year (and a member for less than half of that), I cant help but be amazed at what Ive learned.

12 months ago, preparing espresso coffee; real, sweet, nectar-like espresso seemed like something completely outwith my bounds of possibility - it was something I considered a special gift reserved for all but the most elite Baristi.

Whilst I am still in pursuit of the legendary "God-Shot" (Ive come bloody close a few times), I look back over the last six months and reflect on the exponential increase in my understanding and indeed, ability to craft an espresso.  From initially considering myself limited to operating a push-button super-auto, I reflect on how I can now apply what I have learned here on CoffeeSnobs to convert an innocuous little green coffee bean into a magical, wonderful liquid (topped with a rosetta no less!)

    So then it hit me...

When I first joined CoffeeSnobs, I chose the name "Coffee Quaffer" because that was all I was capable of - passively consuming coffee, typically bought from/prepared by other persons.  Never, in my wildest dreams did I ever envisage that I would be roasting the beans and then extracting espresso for myself.

Thats all changed.  Im now "hands on".

So, goodbye "Coffee Quaffer" - be gone with your passe reliance on others to feed your passion.

Hello "Alchemist" - long may your pursuit of the perfect espresso live on.

    Geez I love coffee....

Working...
