Really? My tortoiseshell just looks at me as if to say "if you wanted it, you really shouldnt have thrown it away in the first place now should you?"

She does love to chase reflections from a small mirror (or stainless steel saucer from a cappucino set) on a sunny day though!

LOL 2MCM, that explains why the cat show was in the middle of the showground colosseum!

Any cat will play fetc. The nutty cat plays fetch as will the other two if they deem it appropriate at the time.

Are Russian Blues the cats that like to play fetch?

Since were already off-topic , can anyone help me identify a cat I saw at a rural show in Tassie; it was about the colour of American gold (kind of a peachy/orange/tan), had a mane and tuft of longer hair on the end of its tail, and bright blue eyes. Very cool looking cat!
I think they call that a blue eyed Lion m@...Who did you throw at it??  ;D

Witht the last Blue I had I got him first then a Birman then a Kelpie Cross G/Shepard(rescued puppy). Only problem after 12months with that lot was the dog would see the cats bathing themselves and try and help.
If you can picture a doggy the size of a Shep giving a cat a bath
The three of them would happily sleep together and use each other as pillows, I think the cats just layed down the law early on, a thwap across the nose from a cat when the "bathing" got too much sorted him out.
It was definetly funniest home video material!
The most hilarious part was when the doggy would come in and a cat would fly out of nowhere for a ride and a play.... Russians are very good with other pets and still remember my son dragging him up the halway by his tail foot head whatever he got hold of and the cat would just go limp and let him. I distinctly remember chasing one of those cats off the kitchen bench dipping theirpaws in coffee mugs and licking it off, feline snobs? Wonder if this one would like espresso? (kidding)

Try and time it to get the puppy and kitten together. Then they will grow up together and there shouldnt be a problem.

Otherwise, get the cat first, which you seem to be doing, and then introduce the puppy to the cat gradually and gently, just as you would another cat and there should not be any issues.

Cats are very very territorial and if you want the animals to get together well you need to gradually introduce them so they become mates. Ive known heaps of homes where the dog and cat play together, sleep together etc. You just need to get that introduction right.

Then we can ask the rotty if he tastes like Nunu rabbit or chicken.

i have three darling cats with amazing temperaments - one is half siamese with typical siamese nutty temperament, and the other two are plain moggies with fabulous temperaments.

All are rescues, one was dumped at OGs workplace and the others came via the adopt a cat scheme through our vet.

I would love a bengal, but to justify it I also have to have a rescue  pet. I couyldnt buy a pedigree animal knowing the RSPCA puts so many other unloved animals to sleep everyday.

The same with  getting a dog - my friend is a breeder of  English Springers and I would love one - but I would have to get a rescue dog too. You can see where I am going her cant you ;D

At present we have enough animals but one day... I will get my Bengal.
Id love a Bengal Tiger as a pet, but would have to work four jobs just to feed the thing!
Imagine forgetting to pick up food for it, hi kitty how are youu CHOMP!
And imagine the litter box eeewwwwwwwwwwww
