Re: What I Really Want for Christmas...

Im with nunu on the knife.

Though I have about ten knives already, it would be hard to really justify it to OG.

A house all paid for would be my dream.

Hey greenman - I hope you get your wish this Christmas.

Im going to Chefs Armoury today actually - but not with that kind of budget! JCK seem to be a cheaper place for great knives anyhow.

      Now.....coffee related and realistic:

Grinder (Versalab M3 or Compak K10 WBC - probably the K10 actually)

Id love to be given a car, house or 1-group Synesso/LM GS3, but Im happy waiting for all of those!

Ive given my wife a $50 budget though, so I doubt itll happen this year!

Re: What I Really Want for Christmas...

        Gday all,
the only thing I can think of that Id like for Christmas is a set of luggage that helps to reduce the weight of the stuff inside it, maybe with a helium filled frame or something ;D.

Seriously though, seeing as I wont be in the country near Chrissy time, Id like to get in early and take this oppurtunity to wish each and every Snob, and their family and friends, a happy and safe Christmas holiday period (even if you dont celebrate Christmas), and a happy and prosperous 2008.
Id also like to say a big thanks to the mods, sponsors and the admin team for all of your hard work during the year, I hope you get some well deserved time off over Chrissy, and I hope all of your wishes come true.
Ill be thinking of you when Im skiing and eating fondue in Switzerland, and deperately looking for a decent cup of joe while Im over there .
        Take care one and all,
        Steve.

I just bought my combined birthday/Xmas present yesterday - a Presso / Zassenhaus combo from Presso Australia (with some complimentary Silver medal winning beans thrown in for good measure! (Thanks Cameron!))

Yes, I know, a gift from ME, to ME, very sad indeed (but I promise Ill act surprised when I unwrap it Xmas day  )

I wanted world peace, but with George still in power, thats a hard call, so I guess Ill just settle for Retromans La Marzocco GS! ;D ;D

Happy and Safe Christmas to all. [smiley=beer.gif]

Re: What I Really Want for Christmas...

Well, a happy family Xmas for everyone is always a wish. Hopefully all snobs will realise they are another big happy family - so merry xmas to all - peace and goodwill - and thanks to everyone who has helped me out this year (particularly Mal).

So... to my wishlist present - from my better half to me, to be unwrapped on Xmas morning (why darlin, you got exactly what I wanted!) is a temperature gizmo from the Zigzagautomobile electronics shop.

After that, I have no equipment excuses. Ill just be left wishing for more knowledge. So, maybe a beginners barista course in the stocking wouldnt go astray either. Oh well, thats for next year.

If hes playing bowls it will be more than one coldy.

                    My condolences greenman.

When my father passed away it was the day before the soccer grand final hed been waiting years to see his team finally reach.
We figured he had a better seat from where he was.

So I reckon your dad will be looking down on you all and enjoying this Christmas along with the rest of you (you just wont see him).

Matey, thats sad. Im sure you and your family have plenty of stories to share and remember about dad/granddad though.

81 is a great innings and boy did he see some great things in those years. WWII, drastic transportation changes including jet powered flight, TV, man on the moon, computers and communication. An amazing 8 decades for sure.

Sad to hear that Greenman. The first Christmas without a loved one is always tough to get through -- were facing one at the Robusto household.

But we all have to be thankful for all the loved ones who will be here to share the day. And temper the sadness with wonderful memories of the one/s who sadly cant be.

                              Condolences.
