I resemble that remark! Well, not me, but the rest of the staff here lol.
You deserve a better workplace I reckon

I have had a few requests for "extra hot" ones the last few days and have have a little time to chat to them about why milk done "properly" is the temp it is. Still tweaked a little hotter for them and at least they went away knowing a little more. I know it cant be done in most places due to removal from the customer but I will keep working on those I can

My partner and her parents like their coffee "Extra hot". They get angry if its not absolutely scalding. I dont understand it. I made them one here, got it to the right temp, and they drank a 240mL cup in around one 5 second chug. Next time I made one, they asked for it hotter. I swear the milk was boiling when I finished with it, and they said it was perfect.

That actually wouldnt work, because the mother in law asked for me to steam her rice milk (which has pretty well no protein, so doesnt foam or curdle at all - Just looks like dishwater). Some people must lack tastebuds (presumably because they have burnt them off).

It might foam better if you put some dishwashing liquid in it
            Probably taste better too...

Mix coffee whitener and water. Steam to whatever temp you like, its non-dairy.

Depends on the whitener, some use sodium caseinate.

Seriously the only explanation I ever get is that you can take your time drinking it. To me this is like ordering the filthiest tasting cocktail you can imagine because you cant trust yourself not to chug a delicious one, but it would seem to a certain group the time it takes to drink is more important than the taste.

I really dont get people who need external forces to make them comply with what they want - you want to drink slower? Have a sip not a gulp, instead of asking for an un-gulpable coffee.

To some people the "experience" is the most important part.

They may want to sit and talk with their friends and slowly drink a cup of coffee that hasnt gone cold. They dont have a discerning palate in regards to coffee and it isnt the subtle nuances that come with ideal temperature milk that they are craving.

They have different priorities or desires from their coffee drinking experience, thats all. Heck, I bet some people even put sugar in it

Coffee experience at my litle setup involves optional puzzles or juggling before during and or after the coffees on the grass

Mmm A Lute we have the rest of the medieval circus so why not, shame the fire juggling gear doesnt work well during the day and the power lines get in the way of the potential kite and R/C plane flying

Oh and yes I did have a real job once upon a time  ;D

On venting DONT ask me about kites while I am making a coffee in between playing with Diabalos, my brain just wont cope.

35 degrees and they kept on ordering 36 degrees I shut down for the day and at 38 degrees the 3rd beer is starting to kick in.

Must figure out how to do iced coffee without having to sign my life away to the council health inspector.

simple, dont use ice cream.  im going through this at the moment to get my cart registered with the werribee council.  As long as there is no fresh food being prepared, you can get away with class 3 registration which means you dont need a food safety plan.
