  • 43 Beans

Just conducted an experiment on the weight of 43 beans and it is approximately 6.2 grams give or take a little weight for smaller or larger beans

Now when Nescafe say 43 beans in every cup its is pretty close to a 7 gram single shot
In another post I found out that instant coffee is freeze dried

My taste buds believe that Blend 43 must loose over 50% of its original taste from this method

    Any thoughts of enlightenment??

      Yes Yezza

For visitors we don’t like to much

I have not had instant for a few years now

But I do remember a brand long ago it was called Pablo
we used to make porridge with warm milk and day old bread and we would sprinkle Pablo Coffee and sugar on top to mix in.
It was yummy now days kids have breakfast serial.

        Hi

I also have seen and tasted Pablo many years ago. I think it was at a rescue exercise and we were being catered for.

Pablo, International Roast and Caterers Blend - the axis of evil :-)

So not only is it Blend 43, it is probably well beyond its use-by date (unless you get lots of unwelcome visitors).  :

I was curious as to why the slight discrepancy so went and weighed 43 beans of PNG Kimel.
              They were 7 grams.

I weighed a bean mix some were smaller that’s why I said it was close to a 7 gram single shot
The average would be 7 grams in 43 beans

I can safely say the jar in the cupboard is over 43 days old :

. . . seems to be 17 beans short of a sonata by the pale moon light.

Don't they use 100% robusta in instant? (Unless it's on of the new fandangled 'real premium' arabica blends with extra crema™?)

I believe Robusta beans are smaller, so my guess would be that 43 beans is around 6g.

Well, it does explain why a person I once worked with would put 4 teaspoons of Instant coffee into her cup (and three of sugar).
