    Re: Bean Bay Teas

    Thanks everyone.
I am using old macona jars at the back of the pantry so that should be fine.
Just tried the PNG Broken Pekoe and that too is an excellent cuppa.

Abolutely spoilt with the quality of goods from the BeanBay ;D

Plastic zp lock bags inside the CS green been sacks - or those metal tins are nice too 8-) Keep the air and light away from them and they should last a fair while.

Just received my BeanBay purchases and made a tea with the Earl Grey, wow, what a great tea, beats the hell out of the earl greys from supermarkets and other "specialty" tea shops i have purchased from of late.
Yep, thats the beauty of CoffeeSnobs getting whole cartons of specialty tea straight from the shipping containers and distributed around the country nearly instantly.   Some of those tea shops have a cycle of many months before new crop teas get packaged and distributed and even then they have to sell their existing stock before putting the "fresh" stuff out on the shelves.

The Earl Grey is amazing when its that fresh and makes most others seem like psudo tea.

Cool, dark and airtight for me too.  Glass in a mostly dark pantry should be fine though.

I have always been told that Tea should be stored in an airtight container but that container should not let in any light

Light will bleach the colour and some of the flavour in the leaf over time

For this reason we have always stored tea in tins. In the cupboard

We store ours in one of those glass cookie jars with rubber seal, snap down lid in the pantry.  Seems ok in there.
