Re: Firefox, Google Chrome or Explorer

I flick between Safari and FF, but probably jump for FF most.

If FF starts to run like a pig, then youve probably got too many add-ons installed.

Mozilla Firefox wins the race by far for me. No second thoughts. I have used :

    Internet Explorer
    Netscape
    Opera
    Mozilla Firefox
    Safari
    Chrome

Well Microsoft, if you put it that way...
;D ;D As published by Microsoft...

Im an avid FF fan but have tried:

Opera - unstable on my 32bit Vista machine...

Chrome - well, lets just say Gmail loads faster in FF, contrary to Googles claims...

IE8 - bloated, slow, bloated, slow and bloated...

    Nice comparo HERE

I find it interesting that IE7 is faster running on a virtual machine on my Mac than on the high-end Dell at work.
That would be becaue its a Dell ;D

After just upgrading my laptop to Windows 7 i have now found that IE8 is quicker than when running under Vista. I cant compare to IE8 and XP but overall FF is still quicker.

I mostly use Firefox, but have just been using Chrome lately. Its good, its lightweight, responsive, etc. But it doesnt support the extensions I require (stock ticker, ISP usage bar, EXIF viewer, etc)..

    Microsoft withdraws offending puke ad

    http://www.smh.com.au/technology/biz-tech/microsoft-withdraws-offending-puke-ad-20090703-d73n.html

Microsoft has yanked a controversial ad for its Internet Explorer 8 browser - which features a woman vomiting several times - after an outcry among users.

I think the woman in the ad wasnt expressing an opinion about the product    nor were the mentioned users trying to prevent any damage to M$s reputation  :-/

    I use Chrome

I have noticed that Windows 7 and IE8 and Yabb forums it sometimes doesnt display all the posts in a thread, means you can make some silly mistake because you are totally unaware that there is more to read. It also takes a LONG time to load large forums.

Apparently its due to IE8 checking the whole page to see if needs to use IE7 compatibility mode.
    Aah, thanks SG

Did updates yesterday at work and got IE8, found it is a shocker.

Now I know why. Switched over instantly to Chrome.

A vivid clarification! More size, less attention to detail, I guess...
I dont know that its attention to detail but rather the microshaft idea that their way of doing things is the norm. Websites we build in correct code work great in FF but have some quirks in IE, all very frustrating for sure.

Having a regular day job as well means that i have to use IE as the standard browser and found out the other day that i cannot open outlook web access to get to company email unless IE is the default browser. Bit of a pain having to change default browsers all the time but havent found utility to do that yet that works in vista.
