Lived and worked in a mining town in the N.W. of Oz a few years ago where weeks of 52C+ days were very common in the middle of Summer, without a cloud in the sky. Spent about 7 years up there and funnily enough, we got used to it after a couple of years and thought nothing more of it. Now, Winters there were really, really cold.... Used to get down to 18C sometimes :P

), I would go riding up and along the mountain near me (amazing rides up there) in Winter. I remember getting off at some point where I had found a cafe each time and hurrying in to the warmth...go to order a coffee...only to find my face is so numb that I literally could not talk, sometimes would even drool. The muscles just did not do what the nerves told them to. It was always very embarrasing. Happened time and time again because I needed to go inside to warm up and I feel like a fool if I dont order something so I would still try each time.
