Been using it for about 3 weeks on my work notebook now, very happy to get off Vista....boots in half the time.
Almost as happy as I was with Server 2008.
Think Ill move the MediaCenter at home from Vista Home to 7, but S.O says "dont change anything on threat of death"....
I can feel a hardware upgrade coming on :-)

I was working as an ICT teacher in Ed Qld when Win Me landed and I loved it... All of the staff who whinged and complained that I wasnt supporting their highly evolved IT skills recieved the WinME upgrade. Revenge is sweet; but, isnt it funny how history repeats....

not sure if there is a way to revert to the xp bar in rc7.
Are you not perpetuating the look and feel of an old system doing this rather than embracing change and moving forward.
We will have the same issues here at work when the time comes to start using Win 7 and so will have to develop or see what MS training is available to get people used to any different interface.

i have both RC 7 and XP SP2 installed (installed rc7 on a different hard drive) but i find myself always choosing to boot the older version of windows. probably cos i havnt found the time to port settings and applications to the new OS and because of some compatibilty issues with x64 as well (my tv card and pvr didnt like it too much).

i do think it lookes prettier though! i cant really get my head around teh new taskbar and i think im just too set on the classic way the taskbar works in xp. not sure if there is a way to revert to the xp bar in rc7.

but i think it does load a lot faster than xp and looks cleaner. i do like the new libraries function as well which is a very big plus in my books.

i guess well see what happens when it starts doing the 2 hr shutdowns next year as to which os i end up keeping!

    Yes it is here
Downloads will be available until August 20, 2009. After that, you can still install the RC and you can get a product key if you need one.

If you dont update by then, the computer will shutdown every 2 hours. Annoying, but it doesnt stop you from accessing your computer. Quite frankly, I wish my computer already had that feature!

The idea behind the RC is that when its released as Retail itll stop working/have limited functionality until you install a purchased copy correct? Or would there be a grace period between the retail release and the RC ceasing to function?

Im tempted to try it, but I dont want to lose access to my PC the instant its released as Retail.
