Would you go that far?
Not sure i would as i need to have the fresh coffee to keep me going.
I am finiding i dont have enough time to explore all apps available for integration and moving data to and from a network environment, and of course there are the games to play as well ;D
Its a shame that they didnt put a USB port in it imagine the possibility of running the temp monitoring software on it.
The frustrating part at the moment i see is the fact that while applications can edit MS Word/Excel, their storage areas dont match other storage areas for file sharing. To enable a staff member to grab a file of a server and dump to an ipad and then work on it remotely etc is cost effective and makes great use of their time.
An ipad + PC is cheaper than a light weight laptop and the battery life on the ipad to date has been superior to laptops.
We are looking at these from an external access view where we have staff using web based systems, we are testing the ipad and have also purchased a number of cheap clones running android to see what they are like as well. We are definitely living in the land of toys at the moment.

They arent pre-ordering because its a decent product though, its just because of the shiny apple logo.
I think its disappointing that people buy products because of who makes it instead of whether it actually is a decent product.
For less money than the iPad, why not just go out and get yourself a netbook.
Personally, I have a notebook, a macbook pro 15inch screen, its nice and light, has an awesome keyboard, excellent build quality, Ive a 3G connection... those netbooks you speak of, Ive yet to see one that had a good build quality, a quality screen, fast processor, or anything else I want in a notebook.. If Im going to get a notebook Ill get one worth the money.
Ill be getting an iPad, not because I need a portable computer (again, already have one) I do want it to watch video, read books, play games, surf the internet, Connect to social networks, occasionally write an email (and really occasionally) maybe make a skype call, occasional music, what ever else is available for the iPad app wise.
Personally, I dont want another computer, I dont need one, Ive a notebook, what would I want a poorly built netbook for.

Apple sells estimated 120,000 iPads on the first day!
www.thetechupdate.com
Initial estimates show that over 120,000 iPads were pre-ordered on friday, according to Investor Village. And if you thought the iPad would be a fail, you have no idea. It was also estimated that Apple made over 75 million dollars of only pre-ordered iPads, in just one day!
