Im not wanting to spend more than $50 a month on a plan.
If you go on a 49$ plan you get the phone for 120 dollars (5 a month.) - Couldve kept the FF points.

have you never heard of Paris or NY or Rome or ????? OMG
Yep, just got back from 4 weeks in the UK. Problem is I have 2 kids to kart around and the seat restrictions when using points are a pain. If I go anywhere near the UK, BA seem to know Im coming and go on strike and are partners with Qantas!

Went Singapore air this time, and Emarities on the way back. Singapore air was great.

Also by wife had enough points to fly around the world with Ansett, lost them all when they went down the toilet. Use em while you can I say!

Ah well, the wife will be happy, and its unlocked so she can use any network. Havent used one myself and dont really need one but I have to learn about it so that I can teach her. ;D

        Voda. 16GB

        the 32GB is $240 on a 49 cap.

OR go Optus 59 = free phone. unlimited text. 550 worth of calls. 2 gb data.

          Re: iPhone 4 snobs?

If youve bought the phone outright, all you need to do is find the right balance between phone calls and data use.

The mobile web is quite economical and unless you are streaming radio it is (I suspect) unlikely that you would use up a reasonable date allowance.

When I checked my data use (iPhone3) I found that with reading the NY Times, some odd searches, a bit of checking my work email (via web) etc. I had managed to use the grand total of 150 MB in TWO YEARS! Most of my time using data ends up being over the local Wi-Fi network cause the phone defaults to Wi-Fi if available.

quick question here:  Can it be claimed on tax?  legit?

Would you need to buy it outright to do this?

I use mine almost exclusively for work, and pay it off on a "plan" and the Tax Office hasnt questioned the 75% deduction I claim.

                        Re: iPhone 4 snobs?

I love, love, love my 32g 3GS iPhone - Ive had it for about 9 months now and will probably hang on to it until the plan runs out in October next year, by which stage Im guessing the iPhone 5 will be out.

Ive upgraded each of the OSs each time theyve come out (currently on OS4.1) and have not had any problems that people report, although I tend not to use it to surf the web unless I really need to - my eyesight is too poor to read the tiny writing and Id rather use a real computer screen to read.

Ive never JBd because Ive never felt the need to, but I do have a lot of apps on mine, both paid and free. By far the most useful one is my Tom Tom App, which I use constantly. To me, it was worthwhile buying the iPhone just to have Tom Tom on it, but with the added bonus of making calls, playing games, texting, etc.

Love it all around and wouldnt swap it for the world. And, no, not an Apple Fangurl - its the first and only Apple product I own, I just think its a brilliant mobile device!

Love the video, Luke - will send it to my mum as she only recently purchased her LeLit and it might give her something to hone her skills by, since Im not there to guide her.

                        Cheers
                        Di

Back in 2007 I bought the original iPod Touch when it came out - the one without the speaker and before the "App Store" even existed!

I jailbroke that device because there were no such things as games on iPod or iPhone until 08 with the introduction of iPhone 3G and the App Store.
Since the App Store I restored and have never JBd again. My iPhone is running OS 4 and so far I havent found anything I need that it doesnt have.

I love my iPhone 3Gs. I got mine in March after my sony erriccson bit the dust for a second time, just after the plan ran out.

I love the way texting works with following the conversation and the keyboard is big enough for me to see. I dont have too many apps yet, but have a couple of highly addictive games. Be warned - Angry birds is very maddeningly addictive  ;D

As a mac user I just love that I have a phone that finally syncs to my computer without any problems.

Lacehim, the phone is very straightforward to use and you can get the manuals here.

And there is an online support where people can ask questions and get help and advice here. You need and Apple dot com account though - which is free
