Sorry, this has been done before at:

    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/off-topic/...o-machine.html

I have now scrambled some eggs with my Breville Dual Boiler.

It is easier to clean egg off a non stick frying pan than off the steam wand and it is hard to cook bacon on a coffee machine. I might try chopping it up and putting it in with the eggs.

I've done this and it works very well if you get the recipe right. I just put a dash of milk in a 600ml milk jug with two eggs and fire it up. Haven't done it in a long time though, just really to try it out. I don't recommend it on a non-cool-touch wand, it sticks pretty badly.

I dont ever have trouble keeping my steam wand clean, always wipe outside with wet sponge, then purge inside with steam and then hot water
the steam and hot water is under high pressure, never have a problem.
When i did get my Silvia steam wand and fitting it and cleaning as above a whole load of crap came out, from previous owner. but i always purge after use and it always clean. I think purging with hot water keeps it clean and re-fills the boiler.

All this talk had me make scrambled eggs this morning.
Gave my mum a taste (she was visiting for coffee) and she liked them.

Had a dash of milk but if Im prepared I prefer a dash of cream instead.

Ill have to try the fish sauce next time instead of the salt.

Forgot to mention, I have a dedicated frying pan thats only used for eggs.
It still looks like new as nothing scratchy goes near it.

haha my standard eggs (while cooked on the stove) do not contain milk and deffs contain a tiny bit of soy sauce, fish sauce and sake or Mirin - which adds a deliciously sweet element to the dish

    oh and S+P of course!!

This is just so wrong the inside on the steam wands get junked up badly enough with milk let alone adding another containment to the mix :P

Sorry but eggs need HP Sauce not fish

it is substitutefor salt , salty taste , i do a lot of asian cooking, mixes well with eggs.
While a bit strange, I see people putting fish sauce with a lot of things.

Hell, plenty of people put Worcestershire sauce on eggs, and that has anchovies in it.

The most concerning part out of all that Firepower, is that you put fish sauce in scrambled eggs!

Well i tried it this morning cooking 3 serves of 2 eggs, milk , pepper and fish sause in a 400 ml jug, it made steamed egg in under a minute, very light and fluffy, tasted really good, It was a bit of work to clean steam wand after, but no big deal.

I did it as more of a novelty, something different to show my kids.
I think it was worth trying and a bit of fun.

Im not going to buy a second machine just to steam scrambled eggs!
I think you can buy a standalone steamer but who who buy one if they already had an espresso machine and thought this was a good idea?

Learn how to make light and fluffy scrambled eggs in a frying pan; its faster and easier to clean up.

If there was a dedicated machine maybe
Im not going to buy a second machine just to steam scrambled eggs! That is just silly. I do have an issue with my old steam iron however and it is coming up for replacement. My ironing technique is to actually hang the clothes and point the steam station iron at the clothes and blast. What do others thing about having a second Diadema in the laundry that could steam iron my clothes as well as make coffee? The price difference is only a factor of 8 and the machine could double as a paint stripper if I get a longer extension chord so effectively I am getting extra bang for my buck! I do hope that the Seattle Coffee ladies see this suggestion. I would enjoy a video of them precariously at the the top of a very tall ladder with a Giotto and a paint scraper. ;D

The biggest concern these days would be how many people have anaphylaxis from eggs, and the machine then making coffees. Noone would think to disclose an egg allergy when ordering a coffee. If there was a dedicated machine maybe, but damn that nozzle would be grotty no matter how much cleaning it endured.
That is a very valid point. I hadnt quite thought of it from that angle. I think that there is also a general hygiene issue, given that, as you noted, it would be extremely difficult to clean the nozzle.

In the end, I must agree with melicious and ThunderGod...no way, no how on my machine!
