  • 2nd Hand Coffee Equipment Classifieds Application - Help Needed

As part of my IT Masters studies, I need to design and build an application from the concept level up. I have chosen to develop an application to facilitate the sale of second hand coffee equipment. Through this application, sellers can advertise their equipment, and buyers can seek out desired equipment. The application would allow buyers and sellers to make contact, but would not handle any of the actual financial transactions.
Currently, I am putting together a proposal for the application, and so am trying to collate some of the key features the application would require. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to possible features to include in the application? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Read the FS posts and then look at the follow up questions, then look for the problems post sale, that many have had.  Then look at that Bay of  Need Auction and go and generate an add and see what the key points are that come up in the e - bay turbo tool

Opps looks like that place has done part of your work for you...

Unless the tool can confirm that the item for sale is WORKING, it may not be suitable for me

Picture / Price / Status / last serviced and By who / Location / Post or Pickup = e - bay turbo tool  or Add Maker.

Your app would have to have a feature that others do not, if it was to capture a market...  AND it would need a method of getting to those interested.  Say an addon to the BeanHunter app  ;D

NOTE: Until their Android App is released you will then be restricted to teh i-Brick users.

Thanks AM, Ill certainly have a look at those things.

You have also inspired me with an idea to make the application very easy to adapt on a cross-platform level...In theory, only the client-side apps would be different, though with many of the same elements, so the same system could service most mobile devices, as well as personal computers, etc...

if you can come up with an IT tool that can tell if the seller is honest and reasonable that would be great.

Sellers would probably love an IT tool that can tell if the buyer is demanding and unrealistic.

with anything second hand isnt the real problem that each item is unique?

this is compounded by the issue that it is not possible to examine the goods carefully unless you actually can see and touch them.

And in general I think that auction place has it well sussed...

As usual it is that that have an intent to breach / de fraud that are able to find holes / break systems. Same as every thing else in life.
