Apologies for bumping the thread but ive again noticed an issue with, in this case Andys, posting history.

When i click on Andys profile to stalk err... see if hes made any posts about upcoming BeanBay beans, it often shows his last post as 6 weeks ago, whilst if view Andys last 6 posts, that tells me that hes posted 6 times in the last 9 months.

The same issue was occurring before the upgrade but settled down for a while, before returning now.

Not a huge deal, just thought id mention it.

Ive had a problem trying to find old posts as well.
When you try to view the posts that a member has submitted, it only comes up with 1, or a note saying that they have not made any posts, even though they have more than one post to their name. (I hope that made sense  ).
It does make sense. I posted this issue in the earlier part of this thread but it has since been deleted.

thanks for the replies, but thats not the symptom I get. When I click on the post in the Last 20, it goes to the thread, but the post shown in the Last 20 is not shown. I see the post prior to that, and the one to which the one in the Top 20 has replied to but not the one I actually selected. It only seem to be peculiar to that one thread for now. I tried your suggestions, but that reverses the order, as expected. Anyway, not worth pontificating on, Ill re-check my methods.

toggle view from first to last or last to first
Yep, that is one that has caught most of us at one time or another. If you "mouse over" the title of the thread it says "Click here to change the order topics are shown". Not very obvious but once you know its easy to find.

the post that is displayed in the Top 20, is not on the top of the selected thread?
Clicking on the post in the top 20 wil take you to that post not the top of the thread. Its always worked that way.
    :-?

I did that to get here, Firepowers post was at the top with a link of:
    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1300962710/14#14

The 1300962710 is the thread and #14 is the post number in that thread. Clicking on the link will take you to the post.
    8-)

clicking thread title will toggle view from first to last or last to first, i had this problem also, until i saw it in control panel, thread order, with a note that you can toggle it also by clicking on thread heading

Has anyone else noticed that when you view the Last 20 posts, then pick one of them to drill down to the thread, the post that is displayed in the Top 20, is not on the top of the selected thread? (May only be for some of them i.e. the Breville discussion)

Not sure if Ive never noticed it before, and dopey me has just discovered that, or if its a new "feature". This is happening on both IE on a Windows machine and Safari on a Mac. Or is it a conspiracy thats only picking on me?

Try clicking on [Mark all as read] on the bottom of the front page http://coffeesnobs.com.au
and see if they "come back" as unread.
    That worked, thanks Andy.
Ive often wanted to click a mark all as read but never actually noticed the button down there before.  :-[

I think it might be your cache.
I actually cleared the cache and did a hard refresh prior to posting about it, but just glad your solution worked.

The "clicking on an attachment" problem is fixed now too.

I tested it on a few different attachment types and they all worked fine for me.
    Awesome, Andy.
I just went back to the thread i first noticed the problem in and all the different attachment/embedded files work beautifully now.
    Well done.
