  • MIG welder advice please

Im in the market for a MIG welder. Can anyone recommend any brands to consider or avoid? It needs to run off 240v @15amp and be priced up to around $1000. Its for moderately serious home use. My initial thoughts are leaning towards a WIA Weldmatic190.
    Any advice would be appreciated,

    thanks
    Mark

Have you considered any of the Inverter MIG Welders that are around these days? For example....

Hey Mark , Ive use a UNIMIG 172 (blue one)...with excellent results...it is gas or gasless..but after several times using the gasless wire I gave up on it and just shield the wind...it takes the 5kg wirerolls..just found it a good machine...beats the hell out of my stick machine.. 8-)

Thanks guys, I ended up buying a 255 amp Cigweld, about as big as I can run on home power.
Over budget of course, but I doubt Ill ever wear it out. [smiley=wink.gif]
